So far as I can work it out, corrections welcome.

Heavyweight - Muhammad Ali (1942) 72
Light Heavy – Harold Johnson (1928) 86
Middleweight - Jake Lamotta (1922) 92
Welterweight - Tony Demarco (1932) 82
Light Welter - Carlos Ortiz (1936) 78
Lightweight - Ismael Laguna (1943) 71
Featherweight - Eder Jofre (1936) 78
Bantamweight - Eder Jofre (1936) 78
Flyweight - Fighting Harada (1943) 71

What a lot of stories these guys must have.

Jake LaMotta is truly remarkable.

Considering what a tough career he had & to live as long as he has with all his faculties is truly amazing.

Would love to know who the oldest living professional fighter is, not sure if that info would be available through the boxrec database.

I guess if they were 100 they'd have been fighting in the 1930s.

72 is young. Surprised there's not a heavyweight older than that.

It is an attritional sport and sadly dementia claims most of the big guys. Walcott, Dempsey, Tunney, Schmeling all lived into their 80s though I think.

Indeed, and well into his 90's..... Max died at age 99 in 2005.

He lived an extremely interesting and extraordinary life.

Max Muravnick made it to 102 years old: http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer

He wasn't any fighter of note, but probably had a decent number of fights as a preliminary fighter at the least.

Born in the reign of Jim Jefferies, died in the reign of Klitschko.

I wonder if watching a Klitschko fight was in anyway linked to his demise?

Actually, Jake LaMotta is 93 born in 1921 not 1922, but he's living a long life. Also, Max Schmeling passed away 7 months short of his 100th birthday.
