You're the Promoter

2015 just around the corner. You're suddenly a super promoter with loads of cash and influence with media and athletes. Which fights do you make? Any weight class.

As it looks as though Klitschko is fighting Jennings and Stiverne is meeting Welder, I'd like to take the next best 8 heavies based on Boxrec.com, toss their names in a hat and match them up. Four fights in February and two fights in April. Once Klitschko-Jennings and Stiverne-Welder are decided, I'd take the two remaining boxers from the tourney and match them in June against the losers. The undercard of all these fights would feature pairings of some of the top 25 heavyweight contenders.

In March I'd match the top 4 cruiserweights: Drozd, vs Mchunu, and Hernandez vs Huck, then match the winners for the undisputed cruiserweight title. One of the undercard bouts would re-match Youri Kalenga and Prince Masternak.

I'd want to arrange a super-heavyweight tournament, to truly weed out all the hanger-on's and get the real fighters up to speed. I'm sick and tired of alot of these untested, unproven fighters being anywhere near the top 10 or 5. This tournament would truly seperate the men from the boys--- and would put all four organisations in check. I think maybe every 6 months, there ought to be things like this done either on the mini-scale or large-scale to always keep the "true" contenders at the top and the stepping stones to the bottom.

As a matter of fact, all weight classes ought to do the same. Ought to be mandated in boxing, I don't care if it is even done Prizefighter style with three rounds--- a reality check needs to be made every so often.

Heavyweight semi-final eliminator: Wilder - Thompson winner vs Teper - Perez winner
I would be scheduling heavyweight semi-finals like this about every 6-8 months, which involve a possibly legit undefeated contender, a possibly fraudulent undefeated contender, and two fairly talented retreads. In the end, you only lose at most one hyped contender, and you gain one respectable title challenger, plus you get to clean house a little. Plus, it brings-up the quality of Wlad's average opponent.
David Haye vs Alexander Povetkin (I wouldn't mind knowing who is the best non-Klitschko of the '06-'16 era)
Lucas Browne vs Alexander Ustinov
Amir Mansour vs Gerald Washington
Yoan Pablo Hernandez vs Denis Lebedev
Marco Huck vs Grigory Drozd
Isaac Chilemba vs Juergen Braehmer
JCC Jr. vs James DeGale
Carl Froch vs Gennady Golovkin
Timothy Bradley vs Keith Thurman
Mickey Bey vs Richar Abril

Welter - Mayweather vs Pacquiao. Brook vs whoever =1 Champion
Lightwelter - Garcia vs peterson =1 Champion

Any vacant belts put on line in the final match ups
Eventually winner goes on to fight no1 ranked contender
Any interim, ordinary or silver champion who thinks they are a world champion isn't and gets in line to earn a shot (Qullin/Jacobs take note)
Anyone moving up in wieght has to wait till this is all sorted then earns their position for the shot. (sorry Inoue)

Source = ESPN

Junior middleweight/welterweight: Floyd Mayweather Jr. holds both WBC belts. Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz proposed an eight-man tournament in each weight division to determine the mandatory challengers, which was approved by the WBC Board of Governors. WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman commented on it as it relates to a Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight.

“The WBC has participated to allow and encourage in every way the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight to take place,” he said. “The WBC has not set any obstacles or conditions for the fight to take place. The WBC has approved to have a dual championship for the welterweight and (junior middleweight) divisions. Floyd Mayweather is confirmed to hold both titles, and there is no mandatory in either division until we can finalize if he is fighting Pacquiao. There are proposed tournaments to take place in both divisions to keep both divisions active, and to eventually determine the mandatory challengers."
So to get this straight. There would be a tournament, presumably containing the top 4 ranked fighters in the welter & lightmiddle divisions, as rated by WBC. The winner would face Floyd for a world title in 2 weight classes, which would faciltate the Pacquiao fight?
You ever wish you never asked?

Anyhoo, here's the names i'm guessing they're taking about (non of which is Pacquiao)

1. Saul Alvarez
2. Vanes Martirosyan
3. Jermell Charlo
4. Anthony Mundine

1. Amir Khan
2. Robert Guerrero
3. Antonin Decaire
4. Marcos Maidana

ps, what weight would they contest this tournament at?

Not happening! Wlad wouldn’t agree to random blood tests.

Plus Wlad won't fight on May 2 & risk offending the Mexican culture.
