Brian Rose v Carson Jones is now gonna be in Blackpool Feb 14th and it will also be a middleweight prizefighter. Jack Arnfield is in it risking his unbeaten record, he's 17-0 but doesn't seem to have explosive ko power so it's a risky one but hope he wins it and puts himself out there for some bigger fights after a lot of bad luck with injuries. Does anyone know who else is gonna be in it?

Dave Caldwell is hinting Craig McEwan for it, Craig was top draw a long time ago hasn't fought in a year since being beat by a club fighter in a New York bar,will that fit the criteria for prizefighter?

Dont think older more experianced guys suit prizefighter at all tbf.

I agree that the format is best suited to novice pros not long out of the amateurs.

For boxers used to doing 8 plus rounders it is difficult for them to adapt.

Yawn. Prizefighter is often not that good a spectacle and basically meaningless in serious pro boxing.

I agree with the poster that said novice pros would make the best prizefighters in excitement terms; and I also liked the idea of a journeyman prizefighter.

It would be great to have those guys fight for a potentially good payday and actually be able to try to win, rather than have to survive / carry someone.

were you not in his corner in the last prize fighter? he was a bit hard done by? hes still a decent name and think middle will suit him better than light middle, another scottish boy john mcallum has stated on his facebook hes in it. you know much about him?

That why I like prizefighter as it can give fighters their big break on TV and the chance to earn a good payday. Getting from the small hall shows to TV shows isn't easy and prizefighter can fast track that Sam Eggington is a great example of that and he didn't win prizefighter. Look what it did for Rogan, Murray Flanagan and of course Audley

The reason I went off prizefighter is that it was on nearly every month if it is 3 times a year max it's ok. I do like it with a 10-12 rounder and being somewhere which is not in London for a change.

yes I was he was robbed in it to be fair, john mccallam will find it very very difficult and IMO should ply his trade rather than get flung in

John has been boxing for a long time now and if he isn't ready for the 3 x 3 round Prizefighter format then he really is struggling when he is 26 years old. Anything can happen in a Prizefighter Tournament and even getting beat can raise your profile, just look at Sam Eggington. All it would take is a decent run in the tournament and John can kickstart his pro career because he has had 7 fights in 4 years because of managerial problems and I'm sure he would have liked double that at least!!

John is a confident boy and had a pretty decent amateur career so if he fancies it then why not give it a go!!

The bill has been advertised and great lineup a lot of local fighters to who know each other well and share or have shared gyms and rings can't wait for this a lot of good upcoming fighters I guarantee there will be fireworks and excitement in this one.


The unbeaten quintet are Tom Doran, Mick Hall, Craig Cunningham (all 11-0), Luke Keeler (7-0) and Blackpool’s own Jack Arnfield (17-0). They are joined by Cumbria’s Liam Conroy (7-2), Peterborough’s ‘Dangerous’ Cello Renda (25-10-2) and Warren Tansey (10-1), who fights for the first time in 14 months

I wouldn't be surprised if this is a sell out some class hungry fighters looking forward to this one
