Klitschko - Jennings

Wladimir Klitschko will be 39 when he faces Bryant Jennings in New York on April 25.
Very often, old fighters lose to younger, talented, ambitious boxers. A recent example of this was Inoue defeating Narvaez.
Wladimir is getting older and he's never been invincible. Jennings is a quick, athletic, physically fit, technically-skilled and ambitious young heavyweight with a 3" reach advantage over Klitschko.
I think Bryant Jennings is just reaching his prime in 2015 and he may upset Klitschko to become world heavyweight champion.

As much as I want to see it happen, I highly doubt it.

No doubt Wlad is old & fighters who fight into this age bracket can show up on fight night looking yet not responding like their self. I just don't expect Bryant to be able to necessarily get the W even if that were to happen & the odds are pretty good it doesn't even happen. Having said all that the one thing noticeable about Wlad's previous losses is I don't think many were picking Wlad to lose those fights so I kinda expect Wlad's 4th loss to come outta nowhere also.

Bryant Jennings is really interesting.
a part of me wishes he's had a couple more big fights first...but thats not how the game works anymore.
i hope he wins. we get a chance to see how long he can make those arms of his.
not for the first time he'll be the underdog..... fingers crossed he can pull off something but he's going to have to produce a career best performance where speed and movement is the key..... its a big ask.

Klitschko-Jennings money agreed to
http://espn.go.com/blog/dan-rafael/post ... -agreed-to
The camps of heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and contender Bryant Jennings have not finalized their deal yet, but the most significant obstacle has been overcome -- agreeing on the money.
Sources on both sides told ESPN.com that a financial agreement has been made, and although Klitschko’s K2 Promotions has sent a contract to Jennings co-promoter Gary Shaw, the sides are still working through other details of the bout. With the money agreed to, however, the rest of the deal figures to follow.
If everything else is worked out, the fight is slated to take place April 25 (HBO) at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, which would host its first heavyweight title fight after putting on about a dozen fight cards in the two years since it opened.
Klitschko (63-3, 54 KOs), who usually fights in Germany, has not boxed in the United States since 2008, when he rang up a one-sided decision against Sultan Ibragimov to unify two belts at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
But Klitschko, a native of Ukraine living in Hollywood, Florida, has wanted to fight in New York again, telling ESPN.com recently, “this is my dream. I haven’t fought in the States since ’08.”
Philadelphia’s Jennings (19-0, 10 KOs) is the mandatory challenger to face the winner of the fight between titleholder Bermane Stiverne and Deontay Wilder, who meet Jan. 17 in Las Vegas, but the fight with Klitschko is much higher-profile and likely worth considerably more money.

Is Jennings a mandatory challenger for any of wlads belts??? Or is it the fact wlad is picking another easy fight for himself, Jennings will get battered, too small his style gives him no advantage and he doesnt have any power to bother wlad either. I'm actually a bit of a fan of Jennings and have enjoyed his recent fights but i dont still any competitiveness in this fight a tall.

I think he can.
Jennings is faster, better skilled, more athletic, has a greater reach, and most importantly he's younger and stronger than the robotic old Klitschko.

I wish you were right. But I would be more than happy to place a large bet against your prediction.
And I am not a betting man.

Cant see Wlad having much bother with Jennings,Bryant's a good fighter but Klitschko's head and shoulders above pretty much every active HW in the world
Fury and Wilder with their height have the best chances of landing the kind of power punches to hurt Wladimir but i'd pick Klit over them too

What have you seen that makes you think he is stronger than klitchsko?
And more skilled? Come on.

Jennings looks like he's got something stuck in his a**, when he fights, and the way he moves... don't think he's more athletic than Haye, and we all know that he couldn't touch Wlad. Jennings also lacks power to win early. No doubt Klitschko wins.

When Jennings is aggressive, his punches have a devastating effect. Remember how the Szpilka and Lyakhovich fights ended?
He
does have enough power to knock Wlad out, but I think like the poster above said, he'll win by close decision, perhaps MD or SD.

That's good if you're a sprinter. He's not a very good boxer. Wlad inside 5

Who has hacked Tunney's account? No way Jennings is going to win. The only win he will get is a moral one if he can survive the full 12 rounds.

...actually I think Wlad has been getting better if we are willing to forget his fight with Povetkin where he demonstrated more wrestling than boxing qualities. I don't think he's ready to lose at this point of his career, not yet...

ask yourself, what would Povetkin do to Jennings.
Then ask yourself what would Wlad do...

People were overrating Haye (and still do) but Jennings is actually a better all-round fighter.
Jennings wouldn't lose to an age 40 light heavyweight like Carl Thompson, nor be knocked down by a super middleweight like Lolenga Mock.
People are underestimating Jennings, he's a very good heavyweight. He's always training and working out, improving himself, staying in the best possible physical condition (while so many other HWs like Andy Ruiz are disgracefully lazy and fat).

I have a feeling Jenning's is going to end up like Calvin Brock did. It won't be pretty.
On the other hand this is another classic step up fight. In order for me to believe that Jenning's has a chance. Jennings has to step up and show something. For example A good sneaky power punch or a stunning left hook that we have not seen from Jenning's. Even a consistent hard jab. And of course a great chin.
Overall though I have not seen anything from Jenning's to lead me to believe he beats Klitschko. I do believe Jenning's chance's slightly improve with Klitschko's advancing age. Just like any other fighter who get's in with Klitschko from here on out.

I like Jennings and have him at about 5 in my personal heavyweight top ten (Wlad, Povetkin, Fury, Stiverne - no surprises there I guess). He might even end up the best of his approximate generation (Fury, Wilder, Stiverne, Joshua, Parker, Ruiz, Pulev, Takam etc) when all is said and done. I just think this is too much too soon for him - it's a competitive fight until Wlad puts some big shots together and finishes it at around the 9 rounds mark, is my prediction

But David Haye possessed the one thing that can trouble Wlad, serious power, which he does not have to fear from Jennings. Wlad will not be afraid to unload the right hand behind the jab.

Seriously , I like Jennings
But haye also waxes Jennings as much haye gets on my nerves.
Jennings is good, but wlad is wlad.
As for the two nit picks u mentioned....I'll let it pass
