P4P Duck List update for January 2015

The January 2015 P4P Duck List -

1. Fraud Duckweather - Nobody can dethrone the progenitor. Pop quiz Flomos - what does the word "progenitor" mean?

2. Aducknis "Superduck" Chickenson tie w/Peter "Kid Ducklet" Quillin - Two different kinds of pathetic ducks. No further description necessary if you've been following boxing at all as of late.

3. Leo Duckta Cruz - Yes my friends, this DUCK is making headways at almost competing with the best. Outright admittance to ducking Rigo and doing nothing but fighting sparring partners and the dreaded "TBA". Haymon owns this Ducky Duck.

4. Danny "Cherry" Garcia - Ducking Herrera rematch. Ducking Matthysse rematch. Ducking Peterson. Fighting light hitting overmatched low level fighters and the dreaded "TBA". He is the model of the new Haymon fighter. Why is he lower than Duckta Cruz? Well, he did at least fight some good opposition before Haymon got ahold of his soul. It's almost like Mayweather in fact where Mayweather accomplished some stuff before becoming the GOAT duck.

5. A Mere Con - He just fought a decent Welter contender, so why? Well, that was pure obligation on his part. He looked good. But now you hear "Kell Brook isn't in my league". Ducking Kell Brook like he's done for two years. He's not going to face any Welterweight hitters and he's languishing around to be Fraud Duckweather's next opponent like a pathetic, brown nosing servant boy.

6. Julio Cesar Duckvez Jr - LOL... everyone in the 160-175 weight range wants to fight this clown and he's gone into negotiations and backed out of Ward, 3G and Froch and has done nothing but fight a journeyman twice and smoke his weight in marijuana while sitting around in his pink panties. He's been a duck his entire career though and was given the red carpet ride. Sergio was supposed to be an aged easy scrap for Duckvez Jr and since then he's just acted like he's going to fight and then backed out. Duckity Duckity Duck.

7. Anthony Duckerell - "I won't fight George Groves unless the money is right". Let me translate that Haymon speak into standard English:

"George Groves is too dangerous for me"

8. Mikey Quackcia - Lol... what's he doing? Going to 140 to chest thump and avoid Crawford and Gamboa some more? Yes. But, having beaten some solid fighters already, he's lower on the ducklist than some other self entitled Haymon puppets. Plus, he wanted to be a cop and that means he was ducking having any shred of morality.

9. Demetrius "DuckBoo" Andrade - Let's see... feints like he's going to fight some serious fighters, then backs out and says what?... "The money isn't there". On the shelf now and in the DuckList.

10. Keith "Duck Time" Thurman - Let's hope he breaks out of this and becomes what we thought he could have been...

Duckers need to be called out in print and public for any change to happen.

Ring Magazine needs to start posting up a P4P Duck List just like this. :TU:

excellent post, except for Thurman, maybe. I believe he is more the unwilling victim, to a greater extent, than the others. I believe he would fight Kahn or any welter, given the chance. At the same time, he made his bed and signed with Al. Imagine if he lost his last fight and badly. He could have had what something like six million with Jay Z?

If Stevenson and Quillin are tied for 2nd place then 3rd place should be vacant.

I don't like to see it done the way you do it. It isn't right.

Andre Ward has to be up there surely. He doesn't just draw the line at giving reasons why he can't fight the 2nd, 3rd and 4th best fighters after himself. He refuses to fight everyone on the basis they want more money than him or can't fight where he wants when he wants.

GREAT POST! Absolutely love it. I completely agree with 90% of your top ten. I think this list must contain Ward unless, of course, you are considering Ward a retired fighter for not fighting for a year and a half.

The other choice that had me scratching my head was including Amir Khan on this list. Maybe i'm missing something but he's got a pretty darn good resume at 28 years old and is coming off a complete shutout victory over Alexander IMO. I also gave Khan a shutout victory over Collazo who was considered pretty dangerous at the time (not sure why, as i think i could beat Victor Ortiz and i need a car seat to drive).

I highly doubt Khan is ducking Brook. I think he's just looking to make the largest payday and that's FMJ or Manny. Brook needs to get his popularity up in the states for that fight to make any sense. Sure it will sell in GB and Pakistan but the casual boxing fans think Kel Brook is a girl on the cover of Maxim sometimes.

I would remove Thurman and add Kirkland. Being dumb is not an excuse for ducking.

I think James would fight Satan, crime & terrorism all in one night unless you told him he should be getting $10k more for training expenses so I don't think he should be on any "duck list".

All in all awful list with an obvious agenda. I do respect you made an effort coming up with each fighters best duck name. That alone is thread worthy these days.

And I'm saying I disagree. Ducking implies a certain level of fear in fighting someone. Hell you could make James duck a guy by your logic by giving him directions to the local library on fight night & James' dumb ass would be asking the book check out lady where the ring is at 10mins before fight time with all his gear on.

..actually the idea of having a top 10 duck list compiled and released by some reputable publication like Ring Magazine based on the results (or the absence thereof) of the previous year is not a bad one...

Yeah at least he had signed to fight Haye. His promoter wanted him nowhere near Price a few years ago though.

Mayweather & Stevenson aside, Fury is one of the biggest cowards in boxing, protecting his career path. He ducked Price to fight a 60 year old fat taxi driver. The guy is terrified to fight a man his size and Cunningham showed us why.

Fury even weighed-in vs Ustinov, seen he was the same size as Fury, and thought, no thanks, find me a BS excuse 24-hours before the bout someone please.

Didn't his wife have a miscarriage around this time? I can't blame the guy for not fighting here. His wife is probably all over the place emotionally & Tyson was probably too. I can't fault a guy for not fighting under those circumstances. There are times even when things looked as bad as this situation looked that I can forgive a fight for not happening.
