Yes John Ryder needs a proper fight by the end of spring or he will go stagnant if he isn't already.

Sure Fr@nk gets crap but Ryder did better than Eubank against BJS and But look what Uebank has got after the defeat compared to Ryder.

Be another poor one jan 31 as not enough time to get someone decent.

90% of fighters. They must look back 10 years and see the number of fighters capable of headlining a Sky show and weep

Etches is a fair call and I also think that Eddie Hearn could be doing some more to raise Luke Campbell's profile as well.

The guy is articulate, clearly talented and has the kudos of an Olympic gold medal....but's he seems to be content to be a Hull homeboy and whilst it is a decent-sized city with some great fans who always get behind their teams.....I am not sure that really allows Luke to make a connection with the wider sports fan.

The weird thing is that Luke did really well when he did the Dancing on Ice thing with ITV....came across as a nice, genuine guy with a decent sense of humour. So he can clearly do the cross-over PR stuff that raises his profile.

So I can only guess that it is Luke's choice to keep his head down and just stick to his boxing and that Hearn also feels that this is the right way to go at the moment?

Think Ogogo is just injured all the time though.

Yeah he is still Scottish champ mate, he was supposed to be vacating it and dropping down to Welterweight but not sure if he is now. He fights again on the 25th. :TU:

I agree on Fury. His promoter should be trying to make him a household name.

Said it on another thread if Fury joined Matchroom when they got the exclusive contract I think he would be much more popular.

Martin Murray, fighting Sturm in Germany, Martinez in Argentina and Golovkin in Monte Carlo - must wish he had more of a fan base/backing so he can bring a champion over.

And now there is a winnable world title fight out there that could be made in the UK, he has signed to fight Golovkin.

In fairness I don't think there's been any champions out there that could have been brought over. There's only Geale, Pirog and Soliman that I can see that would have been remotely possible. And Martin hasn't helped him self either, lackluster performances followed his world title fights, in both cases far too long afterwards, then he cut ties with Hatton and signed with Golden Gloves and has now been fed to Golovkin, unless he's been getting serious money in his last couple of fights, it has to be up there with the worst career moves in recent times.

Murray, despite being not the most exciting fighter in the world or the most marketable and who is unable to get a visa to fight in the USA, has been matched with three of the best (and highest profile) middleweights in the last few years. Arguably the best win on his record is Nick Blackwell. I'd say his promoters have done alright by him.

Home advantage is a masive bonus and is sometimes the difference between becoming a world champ and not but i think Martin Murray's willingness to travel to fight the best cannot be a bad thing ,as a fighter you want your promoter to get you oppurtunities and Murray's getting them and TBH he strikes me as the sort of fighter who doesnt really care where he fights,he's never been overawed yet,he's old school and thats probably why he keeps getting opputunities

I thought he was lucky to get a draw against Sturm and benefited from Macklin getting jobbed but there was some people who though Martin won,the Martinez fight on the other hand i thought was a robbery and Martin won comfortably even without getting credited with the 2nd KD,maybe if it was in the US Murray would have got it

All draw, brilliant how he got his shot at Sturm, but you'd think given his performances in world title fights that he'd be the first in the queue when there is a British world champion at the weight.
