GGG is Screwed

Cotto isn't fighting him yall can forget it! Keep hoping and wishing! So now he's left without a marque name and there is no one else at

middleweight to get very famous off of....so what now? Move up to 168lbs? Ward isn't worth the trouble with no mainstream appeal,

Froch is retiring after Chavez Jr, GGG is in a bad postion. In terms of him ever fighting a marque name anytime soon he's f@cked with

no vaseline!!!

I partly agree...

But Andy Lee for unification with the WBO belt wouldn't be bad, and Canelo would make for a lucrative fight.

I dunno. At this point Murray, then Lee, then Lemieux with hopefully a big fight late in the year would be fine with me.

Hopefully, Canelo beats Cotto. Canelo is a young bull with big balls who doesn't care much about risk versus reward crap, so DLH will have to work hard to prevent him fighting Golovkin.

I agree with Lee and Lemieux being good options. Also, if Chudinov confidently beats Eubank, he becomes an option too.

Canelo has to beat Cotto if we want GGG to get a big name in the near future.. Cotto will vacate and move down to 154 if he beats Canelo and look for a showdown against floyd or anyone else that has a big name so he should get a last huge paycheck.

Saul Alvarez though I hugely believe WILL fight Golovkin.. and for me thats a better fight than Cotto because he is mexican.. and Golovkin is MEXICAN too hahaha

Peter Quillin is a good fighter but I doubt that match will ever be made.

GGG is the best. Everybody knows he is the best and his best challengers aren't interested in losing to him. GGG will clean out the division like Klitschko. And his top challengers will find excuses to pass on the chance to face GGG.

He is too good for his own good.

Quillin is a Haymon fraud and will not be sacrificed to GGG any time soon.

Cotto will be forced to fight or vacate. So there will be three unification fights, WBC, Lee/Saunders and Taylor/Mora. Other interesting fights in the division are N'Dam, Lemieux, Tureano Johnson, Trout, Chudinov. And people moving up such as Canelo and Andrade.

He needs to unify the division and stay as no1 as long as possible. That how he makes a name not by jumping up and down.

Mayweather vs GGG at 160?

I wouldn't be so upset the pacman fight never happend if this one went off!! By end of 2015 if both remain undeafeted and youd suspect they do it could make quite a tasty finale fight for May first quarter of 2016. If he wanted a 160 world title Cotto be the more obvious choice but he's already been there GGG would create quite a stir

Floyd will never fight GGG, unless he weight-drains him down to 150.

Floyd is more likely to cherry-pick old faded Cotto, who is a smaller man with shorter arms than Floyd.

Golovkin just now said he is planning to stay another 5-7 years. Quite a time for even Haymon fighters to duck him.

Lemeux fight will be big with casuals, as big as anything in 168 right now. Apart perhaps from Froch who doesnt want to fight anyway and Chavez who GGG will fight anyway if he agrees.

Sizewise GGG is not big at the weight either, same size or smaller then Canelo, Trout or Angulo. Moving up 168 for good would be silly, his body does not support it.

Sturm wants no part of GGG.
Abraham and Stieglitz are super middles.

Canelo's on the clock with his weight: he won't be able to avoid GGG for long, as PBF, Cotto certainly will.
His Mexican fanbase will laugh at him if he does.

Golovkins profile is solidifying with every fight and will continue to grow as long as he keeps winning, remains number one, and scores unifications. That means more money. Those 168 might give him fractionally more pay right now but for more risk. That is provided any of those are actually persuaded to go in the ring with him. And then he will be left with Ward, Dirrell (Andre) and DeGale. At 160 within a year he could be the man with all roads leading to him, like Mayweather or Klitschko. Someone like Canelo will have to face him in a mega fight.

I think Golovkin sees himself as a professional athlete rather then "prizefighter". That is to say he aims at sporting achievements first and money second. That is also a difference between someone like Kovalev and Stevenson. One fought B-Hop for "little" money other is fighting cherrypicks for prize.

I'd like to see GGG VS. Mayweather. They're both great fighters; I don't think the 13 pound difference should be that much. Perhaps a catch-weight or have the battle at 154 if both can feel comfortable at that weight.

Ward won't be ready for GGG before 1 year ( he might not even be able to make super middle anymore)
Froch and Direll will never fight him.
Abe has been running from challenges ever since the super 8.

That leaves only Bika and Stieglitz. Then Groves down the road.

Canelo looks to be a much better option.

The part where GGG puts his foot in his mouth is when he says he will fight anyone from 154-168 if the money is right. Ward is there waiting. Ward isnt the brave type that will give up pounds to fight GGG, but GGG shouldnt be a dumbass either saying they will fight anyone up to 168 if the money is there.

I hope GGG gets a shot at the lineal title at some point but I guess the only way it will happen is if Mayweather fights Pacquiao. That would mean Cotto vs Canelo will happen and I'm pretty sure the winner will face GGG while Pac vs Floyd II takes place.

If Pac/Floyd is a no go then Floyd will probably face Cotto for the lineal belt and ride with it into the sunset or move back down without making a single defense.

Is money there with Ward ??? Golovkin says that he will move up or down for a PPV fight. Ward is not a PPV material.

Golovkin is not going to make 2-3 million dollars to fight Andre Ward without Andre Ward making as much or more. That is a problem given that Andre Ward is not an established draw anywhere.

@fergusg

Stevens vs Golovkin did 1.41 Million Views on HBO with a bs undercard, stop the bs about the donaire-walters fight.

That wasn't an anomaly. Golovkin's chin wasn't considered tested before the Stevens fight, so there was an intrigue.

With Ward, intrigue will be even bigger, so 1.5 mil is almost guaranteed without a good undercard.
