Lance Pugmire with huge news on Mayweather-Pacquiao.

From Lance Pugmire on Twitter:
Just filed to http://latimes.com updating @FloydMayweather @MannyPacquiao talks. Not done, but they've agreed on @MGMGrand as venue
Mayweather and Pacquiao closing in on purse split, according to official involved in the talks. Drug-testing plan is done.
As they hammer out purse, next step is to get @SHOsports and @HBOboxing to get the broadcasting plan sorted out.
Very important to note until it's done, it's not done, but Thursday was a good day for the long-awaited super-fight, I'm told

Apparently a 60/40 split has been agreed upon.

I think it's actually going to happen.. and the timing is pretty good IMO.

It has to happen. Out of good faith. Mayweather is pretty much forced into it.

Hopefully the fight gets made. If it does, Floyd will only be ducking Khan instead of both Pacquiao and Khan. :bag:

BS!!

All Floyd cares about is money, I don't think for one second he'd hesitate to face almost anyone for the right amount of money. Show us some proof of him being "forced" as you stated to do this bout.

We're waiting.......................

This is the hilarious thing about this situation. If he fights Manny, he's ducking Amir. If he fights Amir, he's ducking Manny. If he fights Miguel or some other cat he's ducking both guys. And you could even throw in Kell, Keith or sh!t I bet 5 years from now people will say Floyd ducked Errol Spence in 2015. Boxing fan logic

Not really boxing fans, just Manny Pacquiao fans. Don't worry, the vast majority of them will all disappear once Floyd whups that ass.

I think there are straight boxing fans that hold these sorta opinions sadly. Granted there is a higher occurrence among Manny fans for Floyd situations specifically, but there are just straight up Floyd haters & dumbass fans out there too who are talking about ducking all the time among all levels of guys.

How is it hate to want Floyd to make $200 million to fight Pacquiao twice instead of $30 million vs. the next Al haymon handpicked set up??? I don't understand your logic.

You're an ignorant dude if you think ducking is not part of Floyd's MO. He even boasted about it on All Access: "I want my team to keep handpicking my fights, so we can keep stealing more money from the fans."

Checkmate. Floyd showed his true colors with that quote. He wants easy guaranteed wins, not high risk life threatening fights against a guy like Pacquiao or GGG at 154. Go away Diggs, your fraud has been exposed, for the coward duck pretender he's been since he joined forces with Haymon.

Yeah, this guy/girl Montreal is the worst of them, he must be Bob Arum with all the lies he post here.

It would surprise me if Mayweather "takes" the Pacquiao fight at this time (IE; in this economy). Mayweather would pull just as much, or perhaps more, do$h from a Khan fight, and the numbers for a Pacquiao match would only get bigger with a win over Khan (more haters).

IMHO - Mayweather has a "serious" distaste for Top Rank and Bob Arum in particular... and I totally understand that, as there are certain previous employers that I have a distinct distaste for as well... #JustSaying...

I guess you're stating the obvious reason why you believe Floyd would take this fight and that is because Arum and their history as the reason why.

IMHO, there are no other reasons why Floyd wouldn't take this fight, he did try and make it back then even with Arum and a 50-50 deal and I see no reason for him not to take it now especially since he's getting a 60-40 split.

If this fight isn't made, it will be just like the last time and it won't be because of Floyd, it'll be because Arum refuses to submit to the "A" sides demands.

There is no A side
So silly when people start quoting boxers

Mayweather can fight Some top 147lbers and make 30-35 Mill

Or he can fight Pac and make 100

Pac is the only one bringing him that kind of money

That eliminates anyone from having complete bargaining power

60/40 is where it should be at now

If Floyd offers that and Manny doesn't take it, it's on him/arum

If Floyd wants more, then he's the one looking for a way out

Fight might have been 50/50 split at one time, but Floyd obviously deserves more at present

Floyd loved Arum...until Arum tried to force him to fight Margarito in 2006. But Floyd was afraid of Margarito and ducked that fight and ultimately bought out of his Top Rank contract for a six figure sum.

Pacquiao transcends the sport (Prince Harry, invited to Obama and Ali parties, invited by Arnold and Stallone to star in movie, Nike deal, endorsement, deals, subject of Leon "When We Were Kings" Gast's next boxing movie, globally beloved, invited to box twice in Dallas Cowboys Stadium, etc.

Floyd does not transcend boxing. He's a manufactured and protected reality show chump who will become irrelevant if he keeps ducking Pacquiao.

How stupid you sound, first you say that "that eliminates anyone from having complete bargaining power" and then you turn around and contradict yourself by saying "Floyd obviously deserves more at the present".

This is why you Pacquiao fans continually miss the mark; one is saying contradictory stuff like you are and the other (Montreal) is just plain retarded and stupid on top of that.

Neither has COMPLETE bargaining power, one does however bring more to the party.

I think the main reason this fight is on the table apparently despite Bob's & Floyd's obvious issues is cuz Saul & Miguel are on the table for May 2 & Saul & Miguel can compete with Floyd (& Manny for that matter) vs lesser guys like Amir or Keith or Kell. Floyd vs Manny is the only fight that for sure out does Saul vs Miguel (he could also swipe Miguel too). If Floyd fights anyone else he's gonna have move his customary cinco de mayweather date & that likely affects his buys cuz some cats will be spending their money on Saul vs Miguel instead of Floyd vs Amir or whoever.

Could be a massive year for BIG fights

Mayweather/Pacman
Canelo/Cotto

the winners of the above face each other in September although If Pac was to win I cant see him fighting Canelo though
