Zidane = Legend

2 goals in the last 2 minutes stopped 'Brave' England for gaining their first win in Euro 2004

Yesss!!!!

Beckham missed a vital penalty against his former team mate Barthez then in injury time Emile Heskey gives away a free kick in which Zidane scores a cracker. Under a minute later Steven Gerrard gives a terrible back pass in which David James trips Henry and gives away a penalty in which Zidane cooly despatched in the top left hand corner, 10 seconds later the match was over....

France 2 England 1

Vital match in 4 days for England

Cardiff, hey? When it comes to football and rugby people from non-England UK nations some people can be so sad. Wales did so abominable in the qualifications they don't go through (once again) so to entertain themselves they have to dump on England just because they have got further then them.

Sad really..........

We gave France a gift-wrapped 3 points at the end last night but all is definitely not lost. I thought it was a damn fine performance from our boys.

Arrrgh Bartez you wanker!! 8)

:D I did wonder if the Scots and Welsh on this forum might have a little chuckle. Got a call from my cousin in Haverfordwest last night, who was over the moon. I pointed out to him that not only had the 'ferocious' Welsh dragons folded like a pack of cards when the finish line was in sight, they couldn't beat a bunch of doped-up Russians who had undoubtably been queing for potatoes all that day!

I wouldn't take it too personally Hurricane, it's mainly just banter I expect. :TU:

Unlucky my arse!

That was a pathetic capitulation, and showed exactly why we will never win any major tournament.

Had the situation been reversed, and they were 1-0 up going into stoppage time, they would have hung on to the ball stroked it around

What do we do? fornicating donkey boy Emile Heskey comes on, kicks someone in the chest almost immediately, then in his very next touch, gives the ball away at a crucial moment, leading to the Gerard back pass and David James' calamitous clattering of Henry.

James wasn't really to blame though, had he picked the ball up, it was a free kick, so he had to try and come out and kick the ball, Gerard, what a fornicating plonker!

England shat their pants with three minutes on the clock, and the ridiculous decision to defend in their own penalty area, rather than try and push up and control midfield, is what ultimately lead to defeat.

that was unbelievable. question is, can we get up for the next two matches? i fear that performance may have taken it all out of us- how many times do england perform well in more than one group stage match? :o

Well, though we won 3-0 against the mighty Switzerland what a shambolic performance it was. Cor dear!

If we play like that against Croatia, I wouldn't be surprised if they knocked us on our arses!

He played well yeah. Ledley King was a class above during this game tho. I dread to think how good a player he would have been without the injuries. 8 yellow cards and no red cards in his entire league career is actually mental.
