wilder - stiverne

if wilder wins within four, we have a potential
media superstar in the making, with possible
hype the likes of which we have not seen for
many years in the heavyweight division.
i do think stiverne is one of the weakest belt
holders ever and therefore see a real chance
of this happening. wilder is american, black,
eloquent and somehow elegant. this could be
huge.
if he wins, i doubt he will fight wlad this year.
given his careful management, they will let
wlad age another year and fight some easier
contender from the third tier. just someone
they can get away with. mid 2016 is the first
possible matchup with wlad IMHO.
if he wins impressively and does not create a
hype, he has the lousiest management on
planet earth.

If Wilder wins within 4 it will show us nothing new, we already know he can punch.
I'd be far more impressed if he won by decision, then he might be the real deal.

briggs was weak, lost at 1st defence to ibragimov, maskaev was weak too, as wsa john ruiz, samuel peter etc
thankfully klitschkos took the belts from those fools

I don't think Wilder is elegant. He carries immense power but seems clumsy at times.

If wbc allows povetkin to fight perez and become the mandatory, wilder won't be holding that belt till 2016.

wilder acting like WWE wrestler in the press.
If he wins people should not take away the glory and credit. stiverne is a viable opponent. even if its a rd1 blow out or lucky punch, he should still get credit
if wilder wins then will see what jennings/roc nation do as he is 1st mandatory. povetkin/perez is only of jennings chooses wladimir

credit for beating a top 5 contender.
some big fights end early doesnt mean the loser was crap.
thats boxing

Stiverne winning is bad for boxing. He is a Don King fighter which means he doesn't fight much.
Wilder, on the other hand, has unlimited potential, IF, and it's a big IF, he isn't chinny as they say across the pond.
It would be interesting if Wilder actually went and won rounds instead of just an early blowout.

stiverne been hanging around ages due to wbc
he won his eliminator June 2011
but was then forced to have another one 2 years later as wbc were desperate for arreoal to be champion
he beat arreola in April time ish in 2013. then waited for vitali, vitali hung on until last minute which was why he re-matched arreola again. he beat him
then the purse bid for wilder kept getting pushed back like 99 times.
if he beats wilder he will fight more ferquently

you sounded like someone still deserves some
kind of credit for a fight where he is taken out
in 1. roberto duran's loss to tommy hearns did
not mean he was crap, but he sure did not get
an awful lot of credit for the fight.

This is going to tell us so much about Wilder and what everyone wants to know.If he is the real deal.
We know about stiverne, hes passed some tests to be a "champ" and we know hes durable and skilled with power.
what do we know about Wilder?I know nothing about his defense, stamina, durability, heart, courage, ability to hold under pressure.
There is so many questions unanswered about wilder you have to sway towards Stiverne

I'm pumped for this one 50/50 fight but if Stivern shows he can take Wilders shots it can be a long night for Wilder.
My pick tho is Wilder tko 7.

I picked Wilder in 6. I was impressed by Wilder's ability to stick to his game plan, even though he got a little careless a couple of times. His jab has really improved. I was really impressed with Stiverne's chin. Wow can he take a shot or what? I was worried Stiverne would come back, but think he was too tired. Wilder was much more tired than he let on too. Fun fight to watch.

Just watched the fight, thought Wilder's team got there tactics spot on, a little disappointed with Stiverne's performance though.
Wilder's jab has improved massively and, although he reverted back to his raw windmilling ways every now and then, it was a good performance.
He is still a work in progress with plenty of room for improvement, but the fact he is showing improvement is encouraging.
But I would keep him away from Wlad for the forseeable future.

stiverne fought his normal mediocre fight. he is technically world class in the sense that he's a step higher than Arreola. but he really isnt very good.
what is most significant is that the first major step up for Wilder.....the Ko dsnt happen.
