Thurman and Broner

I was hoping for Thurman/Maidana, but it's tough to complain about Thurman/Guerrero. Very good fight.

Broner/Molina is not as interesting. Molina has power but is the type of guy who has very little chance to beat anyone on that top tier. Broner has been facing very mediocre opposition since the Maidana loss and it is getting tiresome. He should be fighting guys AT LEAST on the level of Herrera/Lundy/Soto.

Going with the obvious picks, Keith & Adrien, but I see Robert as the first legit top ten guy Keith has faced (imho) & John as just a rough mfer who never gives up (ask Lundy & Bey who were coasting to W's before John said nah uh) as live dogs here.

I was hoping Herrera might be the guy here myself tbh so I can understand him being brought up. But I think you are seriously discounting John. He's beaten Henry Lundy (one of the guys you are bringing up as a better option). He's beaten current title holder Mickey Bey. He DAMN NEAR beat Lucas.

I've seen Molina fight several times now, I just don't think he's that good. Yes, he beat Lundy like 5 years ago, but that was by TKO in the 11th round of a fight he was losing clearly. The Bey fight was basically the same thing, he was getting boxed up and had to stage a last minute rally. I don't think I'd pick him in a rematch against either man.

Also, despite the knockdowns, I never really felt like he was gonna beat Matthysse.

I dunno, maybe I'm being unfair to the guy, but he just lost to Soto on the last Mayweather undercard so I don't understand why he then gets put in an even higher profile fight, other than the fact that he's a semi-known guy that they know Broner can outbox rather easily.

I think the one thing that we all have to understand is that if the fights that are put on are not exciting, the general public is not going to watch them. The names that we feel are marquee mean nothing to them. So while I would have preferred broner fight what i would consider a higher quality opponent like dulorme, I know that john Molina is going to come forward and throw punches. I think that's pretty much what it comes down to at this point.

This is a solid card that is easily an hbo level and better than pretty much anything showtime put on this past year. Except we get to see if fo free.

I think we see what haymons game must be. Pay NBC the 20 mill, put on good cards that will draw ratings, and next year get hbo to start paying.

I think thurman wins easily. Broner should win but he is hittable and molina has very good power. I thnk he hits a good bit harder than maidana who had broner hurt badly. That said maindanas overall offensive attack is much better.

I hope Molina knocks out Broner and all those big paydays that Broner was expecting go down the crapper. How ironic would that be?

The thing about Broner is that he isn't that good. How many times does he have to struggle like crazy against B level guys before people figure that out?

He's not THAT good, and his jump to 147 was extremely premature, but I still think he's more than good enough to beat the likes of Molina. I think the only guys he loses to at 140 are Garcia, Matthysse, and Peterson.

Broner only looks good when he can walk someone down. If he is put on the back foot he doesn't throw enough punches and his defense is terrible.

EXACTLY. We've seen it time and time again. Molina will mix it up with him at least and stay in there, and that's threatening to Broner. The fight is solid. Is it the toughest fight possible? Nah. But c'mon, the idea isn't to end his career on show #1. He's gonna have to work. I'm perfectly OK with this.

Don't sleep on Guerrero. I see that fight pretty darn even. Broner "should" beat Molina pretty handedly but Molina has some power as Mattysse can attest to.
