Any takers? Liston v Ali 2 was pretty farcical....Clifford Etienne managing to remove his mouthpiece after Tyson knocked him down....

Etienne was legit. Watch the slow mo replay. He got cracked. He didnt have a good chin anyway, look how many times Fres Oquendo dropped him by just grazing him.

I always think its weird calling Ali-Liston a dive when Liston actually got up and to his mind beat the count and continued fighting only for Walcott to come in and stop things.

There have been several. Arthur Townley repeatedly going down from punches that dont land by Carpentier. Orlin Norris against Vitali. Briggs against Green.

Well Liston's failure to get back into the fight ranks right along with Oliver McCall's crying session I suppose. Both failed to continue for reasons that seemed somewhat within their power to control. At least to most observers.

Tommy Morrison and Corey Williams.... then again the FBI came in and said they'd throw everyone in prison if a real fight took place.

Perez stopping Pep in the 2nd. Looked to be pure baloney.

Check this one out, it's Orlando Canizales against Rolando Bohol. I watched it live at the time and I went around screaming, "Hey, that right hand didn't even land!" It happens in the opening seconds of the 5th round. Bohol gets tagged by a left-right, he almost goes down but straightens up and then the follow-up right doesn't touch him and he is 'out'. I don't know, maybe I've mellowed on this a bit because Bohol does put up a spirited fight for 4 rounds and it could have been a delayed reaction. Also, when a fighter goes down and out suspiciously it doesn't automatically mean he's taking a dive with gamblers in the background, but simply, he can't take any more and looked for the soft spot on the canvas. Anyways, check it out and they show it in slo-mo afterwards which really punctuates the fact that Orlando didn't touch him with the last right hand.

I've always thought that one so blatant that it must be legit. Extreme delayed reaction to a temple shot. Odd to say the least.

that was no dive IMHO. he was out on his
feet after the left hand and was just still
standing totally off balance. the little touch
of the right hand was all it eeded to push
him over the edge. legit knock out.

Emanuel Augustus vs Vester was pretty bad. Those punches did not even land. Augustus did a horrible job taking that dive.

Oh yeah, thats a perfect example. That little girl flurry that Vester threw and then August just barely lets them tap him and falls over like he was shot. Denmark has some good ones, look at Nielson's fights.

Rogie offered the body up for Fury. Whole thing was staged. Every guy on the Falls Road was on Fury for the Fifth Round (no exaggeration). There was even text messages going round to say get on Fury in the 5th. There was a coordinated fight in the crowd that distracted the fans in the arena away from the fight and by the time the fans looked back at the ring the fight was over. In the the footage you can see Roagn look to his corner before he lets Fury take the shot to the body.

If we are going by that standard of dive then I have to say Kermit Cintron against Paul Williams. Ive never seen a fighter run and dive out of the ring like that.

I guess you mean he started the fight with a rib already broken since his opponent scored only one weak jab at the opening seconds of the fight. In theory, a damaged eardrum could also explain the symptoms, but again, the final shot barely glanced his head.

Good liver shot does not need to be very powerful to take you out. Besides there was no reason whatsoever for DLH to take a dive.
