I was expecting Dan so I'm stumped

Better not be. Paulie finished, got destroyed by porter. I believe this is a very hard sell to anyone who knows anything about boxing. Would much rather see gavin get a shot. Thurman would be my number one pick but we know thats not going to happen. Ruslan p would also be a hell of a fight.

Hearn has said its a defence of the IBF title and I think IBF rules state the opponent must be in the top 15 which I think Paulie Malignaggi is not but do correct me if this is wrong.

Brook would beat up Paulie pretty bad , he would cruise through that fight and eventually get him out of there once he had warmed into the fight.

he could basically walk about like broner but actually throw more shots and get Paulie out.

Bradleys ranked after Dan in IBF rankings i think...

Would not be surprised if it is Josesito Lopez he will at least come to fight, not a big puncher and not hard to hit, Brook would get to him, hurt him and stop him, sort of opponent they would want after what has gone on with the injury etc.

If opponent has to be IBF top 15, then it has to be one of these:

They are going to want to get the mandatory out the way. It might be a case the IBF go down the rankings. Everyone can go 'ohhhhhhh Bradley ahhhh' but he isn't going to accept the fight at a 75-25 (or whatever it is) split and now Brook is the champ, all those problems they had before are now set on their opponents doorstep when it comes to mandatory challengers. It will not be an elite level welterweight, but nor should it be given the Khan fight is going to be attempted after this and he's had a terrible injury.

Well Guerrero is fighting Thurman on this new Al Haymon PBC on NBC in April.

Alexander and Khan ruled out for me. I thought Jo Jo Dan was injured?

Leaving Diego Chaves or Josito Lopez as the only known names for me as don't think Bradley would come across to the UK again.

Get Lamont Peterson to move up and tell the casuals that he beat Khan, he is the LWW IBF champion so i'm sure the IBF would approve him.

The smartest choice on that list for me is Diego Chaves. He's just got the biggest result of his career (deserved or not, it's a damn easy to sell point) and Bob Arum doesn't seem arsed about feeding him to the wolves fight after fight.

Brook has the skills to take that with ease, and i have no doubt Chaves is not going to be getting another gift verdict. Also he's good enough that he will test Kell for small periods.

Unfortunately I think there is a good chance you could be right. I would rather they give lawson a shot. Hes ranked unbeaten and 20 kos in 23 fights. A bit of an unknown quantity. Probably the reason it won't be him tho. And its obviously never going to be Bradley as mentioned ealier. If its not jo jo it will be either chavez, lopez or the light punching Canadian mentioned above

Surely Kell gets a pass after being stabbed and all.

Or it could be none of those.

It'll be the mandatory, easy fight and it frees him up for the rest of the year

1. Jo Jo Dan-Good chance
2. Not Rated
3. Timothy Bradley-No chance will want to much $
4. Amir Khan-No chance
5. Frankie Gavin-No chance due to warren/hearn
6. Shawn Porter-No
7. Robert Guerrero-Fighting Thurman
8. Devon Alexander- No chance after what Khan did to him. Its a lose lose. Brook would not be able to stop or beat him more convincing than khan
9. Sadam Ali- Unknown and too risky. Very good fighter though, broke Abregu in his last fight. High risk low reward
10. Diego Chaves- Has not won in his last 3 fights but has put up a good effort. Great chance it coulbe be him. Wouldent cost hearn much
11. Kevin Bizier- Being unknown and coming off a loss even hearn would not bring him over. I hope.
12. Antonin Decairie- A non puncher, very safe fight. For that reason it could be him.
13. Fredrick Lawson- fought no one but has a high ko rate. Too risky.
14. Josesito Lopez- Defo could be lopez. Has a name, got some good wins but ultimately when he steps up he loses. Reasonably semi competitive but safe comeback fight.
15. Yoshihiro Kamegai- Outside bet. Would not mind this fight check out his fight with Guerrero. No quit in him, takes a shot well and throws a 100 punches a round.
