A word from the Commissioners office.

I'm wring this in response to a comment made by JPreisser.
Jpreisser wrote:Chavez stops Armstrong cold? Real believable......
If I run the fight 100 times(this is how you get the most accurate results of who would beat who) Armstrong wins probably 70% of the time, but in this case Armstrong had expended all his endurance and was basically at 0 endurance after Round 9 and that lead to him being stopped, I was actually surprised he was still winning rounds running on an empty gas tank. Also, styles make fights and Chavez has a very high Control Factor vs Sluggers and it makes him a hell of a fight for any other slugger in the game including the great Henry Armstrong.
I hope this has been helpful.

Very! I was thinking that same about Gans vs Ross.

I did not know that, how do you find that out? I expected a tough fight, just not a KO loss.

You won't have any problem giving me a rematch then?

IN the sim, anything can happen, just like when two greats meet. Odds are in the higher rated fighters favor, but things can go wrong.
Tomasino can tell you about two occasions when incompetent judges showed up when Gans faced Whitaker. And thus, Gans clearly outfought on two occasions comes out with draw and a win.
That's the reality of the simulator.
Even down to the anomalies.

Agreed.
In real life boxing, upsets can and do happen, just as they will in the Sim - particularly when it's between two talented fighters. I would ask any of you - how many fights could you say really are 100% guarantees to be victories for say, fighter A?
Obviously if will help his cause if Fighter B is of a lower standard than him... But let's say that Fighter A is Sugar Ray Robinson, you would expect him to be beating the likes of someone like Sammy Angott, but if Fighter B was someone like Sugar Ray Leonard, you may still favour Robinson - but his chances of winning percentage wouldn't be as high as it would have been against Sammy.

Only way to settle it is to send him in the ring against Oscar, that's what I think.

I understand, and I get that things do happen, but when did Armstrong ever burn himself after 8 rounds? It just seems highly implausible. I won't make a big fuss about it, however.

I remember one Heavyweight season that we did, when Mike Tyson beat Evander Holyfield three times out of three... And it didn't exactly turn out that way in real life did it?
And I'm sure other Managers could highlight a multitude of examples when the tale went against the tape, as it were...

The greatest run of luck in the history of the Sim was when Collazo stormed out of the gate, and beat FMjr.....he then ran the table in an undefeated season.
This was A combination of pure luck, and a manager who has proven his genius over many years of simdom.
