Just heard him on the radio over here and thought he came across really well. Was asked about Kell Brook and was very respectful about him, but explained that his focus was on Mayweather and/or Pacman as they're only going to be around for a few more fights and that right now they were also far bigger fights. Didn't hear all of it as I was driving home from work, but seemed in a really good place physically and mentally.

We can't resent Khan for chasing Mayweather and Manny. I still think he'd do Mayweather at this point in time. The danger is that Floyd may think the same and leave Amir chasing the fight forever.

It's hardly humble pie. He's chasing the 2 biggest superstars in the sport, and also the 2 hardest fights in boxing today.

I have no doubt him and Kell will meet if Kell comes back at 100%, at some point that fight is going to be by far the biggest fight either man has, especially if both keep winning at a good level. I'd really like to see Amir face off against Bradley next, but i understand that may well be an impossibility due to promotional and managerial issues.

I'd imagine a rematch with Garcia may be on the horizon soon enough though.

Agree with chasing but he should be beating other fighters like Alexander (what a waste of a year) to give no other option to them.

Khan does not deserve a shot at either Manny or Money. Try winning a World Title at the weight and fighting someone who is not past their best at Welterweight!!!

Yeah you kind of argued against yourself with that example! If Maidana gets 2 shots at Mayweather than Khan deserves his shot. I can't see many causing Floyd more problems than Amir win or lose.

If it was straight after the Khan/Maidana fight then this would be true but you have to give Maidana credit for going out and forcing himself back into the spotlight.

From the time Khan had beat Maidana to the time Maidana fought Mayweather, Khan had a best win over Judah which was in 2011. That was followed by a bad period for Khan which he has then slowly rebuilt from and finally stepped up to welter. Maidana went on a good run after the khan fight, especially at welter then took a big risk fighting Broner and was rewarded because of that.

If Khan beats another top welter, he will definitely be in line to fight Mayweather. Obviously, there is a good chance this will never happen if Mayweather/Pacqiao goes ahead.

That's how the business works though. He was on an unbeaten run at the weight then beat a high profile, unbeaten multi-weight world champion which sky-rocketed his stock. He didn't just beat him either, he tore him completely apart. It was a risk for Maidana to take that fight but the risk/reward factor was in his favour.

Khan has done that a bit by beating Alexander. The only problem with Alexander is that he doesn't have the profile or hype of a Broner type fighter. Khan had a bad year and took some time to re-group, his next fight will hopefully be against another top ranked fighter who might have a higher profile/hype which will give Mayweather no option if he doesn't face him or Pacqiao next.

I'm not having a go at Khan, it's more to say that he has left wriggle room by facing low quality opposition and gradually stepping that level up.

The question that should be asked is why is brook chasing Khan when he should be chasing mayweather like Khan is?

End of the day it's Khans own fault he hasn't fought Floyd. He decided against Fighting Alexander over a year ago when he had the IBF belt. Instead Alexander lost to Porter and Maidana beat Broner soon after to get a fight with Floyd all while Khan had a year out of the ring for no reason.

Had he fought Alexander at that time and took his belt with a performance like recently he would have certainly got the Floyd fight last May

he always does. He's perfectly entitled to snub Brook and go after Floyd or Manny. Brook needs to watch his company.
