WBC champions petition Rocky!
OPEN LETTER TO ROCCHIGIANI FROM WBC CHAMPS

Dear Mr. Graciano Rocchigiani,

We are the two current WBC world champions from Japan, both of whom are scheduled to defend our belts here on this coming June 28. We are greatly shocked to know that the WBC has declared bankruptcy. As world champions of the WBC we have found an opportunity to become famous, make money and proudly represent our country in this great sport of boxing. It is our honor and privilege to hold the WBC world belts and keep on defending our belts. We boxers put our lives for the sport, for the fans, for our families, as you perfectly know what it is. As world champions, as you were, we sincerely wish you to settle with the WBC, and let us fight to defend our WBC belts. Please don't make our WBC belts meaningless. How will we explain to our fans that are ready to see our title defenses on June 28? How will we explain to our children that we are no longer world champions? We have worked many years to become world champions, and that cannot be finished in one day. We beg for your warmest consideration from our bottom of hearts. With our very best personal wishes,

Tough shit, sorry, but if the WBC does end, in the long run everyone will be better off.

I feel sorry for these guys its not their fault that the WBC was corrupt think it from their point of view no title= loss of money, prestige etc

Blimey Tokuyama has been champ for ages now. You do sympathise with these two but I hope Graciano doesn't.

I am sure the WBC will re-emerge as soon as the bankruptcy procedure has finished...

It is still a staggering amount of compensation for Rocky, at best he missed a few $500,000 pay days....

If you think of all the other fighters who have suffered due to WBC's incompetence and alleged corruption Rocky should share some of the money
Glen Catley and the loaded gloves for example!!!!

Of course he will never see the $31m....... would be interesting to know how much he was offered

I don't doubt that they will. New offices, new management structure, new letterheads and another permutation of any three letters (one of which must be a "B") and they'll be back in business.
