Aus boxers son, I request some help pls

Wow! I'm currently speechless, I stumbled across this forum browsing the Web and it's stirred something inside of me that I would like to ask some assistance with please.
Please read my story: I will try it LONG WIND IT!
Allow me to introduce myself, my me is Kane nelson. Son of indigenous elder and beautiful man Brien "Joe" (after smoking Joe fraser) Nelson, my dad was born and bred in Shepparton. As many young indigenous youth there at he time dad roamed free, he began boxing when taken in by who dad told me was one of the classic trainers of his time.
My father was not only related to, but lived and grew up with legends of the indigenous boxing era, names like-
Lionel rose, Tony mundine, bomber roach, spook aitkinson are but a few I remember my father vividly speaking of. Hey where his family, friends and men dad personally knew, stayed and lived with over the years. Dad told me how they would all at different times car pool to get to events like the boxing tents (which they fought at religiously on weekends), the prior forum post of AUS BOXERS OF THE PAST has really touched a place in my heart as I read through it. For many years when I was 17-18 years old I wrote to channel 7 by hand every weekend for years, I was asking for footage (paid copies) or any information to help me find a way to get hold of it and I never ever got a response.....
Anyhow from what I was told by dad, my mother and many friends of his dad was an exceptionally talented boxer. He boxed the opening night of TV RINGSIDE on its very first live broadcast, eventually he was also selected for the Rome Olympics.
My dad's career never ever got to where it possibly could have as my mother was pregnant then fell very ill right before Rome and my dad withdrew to which he then retired!
THE MORAL OF MY STORY BEGINS:
The moral of my story is for many years afterwards dad floated around Shepparton and left cupboards full of trophies, sachets and medallions with is grandmother. She past away when he was in central Australia (rabbit trapping) working what was the first installation of the rabbit proof fence. On his return every single boxing memorabilia was gone, dad had given my grandfather 2 of his early trophies which was all we retained after that day.
After a lengthy public service career my father is now a very ill man, dementia and alzhiemers set in randomly one weekend and my dad is now more equivalent to a bed ridden child in his mannerisms.
Although dad may never see them nor know I fulfilled the promise I made to him to retrieve items/footage of his career I still need to try, I would like to ask if anyone could help point me in the right direction?
TV RINGSIDE fights, lost items or simply any information would be open heartedly appreciated.
I noticed many people, with lots of similar great memories of our unsung boxing heros! I commend Those of you who shared the info, these stories/memories are priceless. Possibly someone may remember him? Or have footage of a night he fought?
One of dad's biggest boasting tales was when he fought his weight division TV RINGSIDE and won, on entering the change rooms dad could hear stirring in the corridors, then into rooms. His trainer appeared to which dad said " what's the racket? What's going on?" his trainer responded, well Joe there's no-one to fight the next division son! The guy hasn't shown, in confidence dad said "but I can right?". His trainer quickly remarked, Joe he's almost 2 stone heavier, then chuckled and began re-wrapping his hands"
From what I'm told dad won that fight also and was mentioned on the night as the first fighter in 40-50 years who had fought 2 weight divisions in the one night and won them both.
My apologies I am now rambling, I just have such tearful memories of dad's face when he spoke of those days and how his whole aura lit up when he did so. The saddest part is he never had anything to show for it, nor is there anywhere I am able to find these kind of stories, photos, footage of just one of these type of great men who I personally believe where part of the backbone of Australian boxing when it began.
Thankyou all for listening to my story, I appreciate the time and tears this has bought me once again.
Kind regards
Kane
