How long before Canelo realizes Oscar is ruining his career

Canelo's best days were with Schaefer at the helm of GBP. He fought several times a year, plenty of exposure on HBO, HBO PPV on Floyd's undercard, and his biggest fight ever was while Oscar was in rehab. Now the Cotto debacle. Oscar couldn't secure the fight and he doesn't have a backup plan. Oscar keeps saying Canelo will fight May 2nd but against who? Oscar even said if Floyd chooses to fight Khan he [Oscar] would go up against his own fighter, Khan (note: Khan claims he isn't signed to GBP anymore while Oscar says he is), and schedule Canelo a fight on HBO. So Canelo has went from a PPV fighter to fighting on regular HBO under Oscar's watch. And do you really think HBO will pay Canelo what he wants, or what Canelo think he's worth, for a fight on the same night against a Mayweather PPV? So who are Canelo's choices for this May 2nd fight? Lara II? Trout II? Lemeuix? Those are good fights for a Mayweather PPV undercard and HBO ain't about to pay the money needed for GBP to turn a profit going against a Floyd PPV.

I think Saul is the one ruining Saul's career at this point. He seems to want this May 2 date fighting anyone despite Oscar's better judgment. Let Floyd have it. Wait on Cotto to figure out Saul is the best option (assuming Manny or Floyd don't come calling) & fight him in April or June or later if Miguel gets a Floyd or Manny fight. Saul needs Miguel to build up his name & legitimize him that little bit further he needs. Take over the May & Sept. dates in 2016, become the PPV king of boxing, give Oscar so much money he goes back to blow & has more pantyhose pics on the internet. I think Oscar is running around like a chicken with his head cut off trying to make the only name cat on his roster happy right now before Al Haymon starts looking like a good idea to him too. The fault lies on Saul.

HBO didn't televise Golovkin's fight with Osumanu and that was a slow boxing night. It makes absolutely zero business sense for HBO to televise a Canelo fight against a no b name fighter on the same night as a Mayweather PPV.

I agree with everything you said about Saul but when does Oscar step in and say "I'm the one with financial skin in the game. I've gambled the future of my company on you. I understand you're a proud Mexican, so am I. But from a business standpoint I can't let you fight on May 2nd. I'm trying to build a brand and having you go from headlining PPV fights to back on regular HBO isn't the brand I'm building." At the end of the day Oscar's decisions with Saul will make it break his company

so many threads start out sounding like someone is ready to jump out of a window
over some rumor or a stall in some contract negotiation. he has one loss in 46 fights
to the pound for pound #1, fights twice a year with 8 major title fights already at only
24 years old, beat lara in july who holds a major title (sort of), has a premium tv contract
and it's only january. what a terrible situation. there are only maybe 5 boxers in the world
who wouldn't crawl across broken glass to trade places with him. he'll still probably face
cotto in one of the biggest fights of 2015 when they get the date straightened out
and we really don't know otherwise, yet.

Canelo is 80% hype.
Hopefully he gets in the ring with Kirkland, and then James could really ruin his career.
