Just listening back to last nights boxing podcast and disgusted to see that Lee's 1st defence is going to be in Boston. We Irish fans getting screwed over yet again. 3Arena had dates available where Matt Macklin's recent defeat was held. Is there more money to be made by taking it stateside, not going to be ppv, gate will be the roughly the same as they are similar size venues. TV money is probably where the answer lies, another 5am fight to look forward to rather than a live event, have been at everyone of Andy's fights in Ireland feeling slightly screwed.

If that is true ill be dissapointed

Lee will probably get 3-4x as much for fighting Quillin in the US than he would for defending in Ireland, reported $1 million purse, difficult to turn down that sort of money. Yet to be confirmed but it is looking like he will fight in America. If he wins he'll fight Saunders, either in London or Ireland.

Al Haymon is giving Andy Lee $1m dollars for his belt back.

If Lee wins he keeps the million plus the belt.

Haha! Al Haymon didn't want to lose out to Roc nation (who won purse bids for Quillin vs Koroborov) so bad that they were willing to give up the WBO belt, lie about making bigger fights, then fight for the same belt again?

Didn't want to lose out, but in reality they had lost out to him, little chance of them making money with a $1.9 million purse bid for a fight like that, he did them a favour by pulling Quillin out.

You could go out and support him, being Irish and a fan

Interesting angle here, N'Dam is mandatory for the IBF, no #2, Sturm is 3 and he's gone up to super middle, Saunders is 4. If Taylor has to vacate because of all of his issues outside the ring, that leaves Saunders first in line to fight N'Dam for the IBF, Lee fights Quillin for the WBO in the hope that if both win, they fight each other in the summer with both titles on the line.

I'm under the impression the WBO has just reconfirmed Lee must make his first defence against Saunders. If that's the case, I doubt Lee will be fighting in Boston.

Wazza was recently quoted as saying that Saunders would potentially be open to again stepping aside for the right price, as he did for Lee to fight Korobov.

That means nothing if Wazza and Saunders accept step aside money. Wazza recently hinted that this was a possibility, and certainly didnt rule it out.

See what was said a while back has been confirmed hope the Dollars works out well for you, while the fans you followed you all over the domestic landscape get screwed. Best of luck And y and hopefully you win and we get you to fight saunders in Ireland.
