Frequenting various boxing forums I started to classify haters. Originally just to avoid them, then for fan. This is what I came up with:

Floyd haters - Hate Floyd and anyone associated with Floyd. Use word "Gayrunner". Before their sudden extinction historically included Pactards.
Flomos - Hate everyone that isnt Floyd or associated with Floyd. Proudly TBE. Currently are undergoing mutation into Haymon bandwagon.
Klichkophobes - Hate Klitschko on a personal level. Recently adopted a warcry "go champ". Includes both Flomos and Floyd haters.
No defense nation - Hate fighters that dont get hit in the face too often. Includes Floyd haters, Klichkophobs and NoWards.
No offense nation - Pretend to hate fighters with knockout power and often use code word "flaaatfooted". Include Flomos.
Brits - Loath Brits with passion.
Europhobes - Fear certain theoretical and yet undiscovered entity referred to as Eurobum.
Russians - Prize only those fighters that can be scientifically identified as more or less Russian. Anyone else should go and die.
Trolls - Uncontrolled hatred towards the entire universe.

I wonder if you can recognize yourselves.

lol solid post breaking down the impressive assortment of haters in boxing. I only follow combat sports so I don't got a very wide view on the sporting world, but I can't believe the NBA, the NFL or any major sport gots this varied a group of knuckleheads.

From what I've gleaned a key feature of the Flomos is the use of 'pacturd'/'pactard', though some aren't so crass. I've also noted that a sizable portion of them have asserted that Floyd and his associates are treated unjustly or disliked in significant part for being black. This could reflect how race is a salient issue to many of them, and I sense that for at least a moderate number their support for Floyd is partially race-based. I also get the impression that many of them believe that Floyd is the sport rather than its standout fighter, and there is a great deal of ignorance on their part when it comes to boxing matters not strongly related to him. I agree that they form a large proportion of Haymon's supporters, possibly due to his link to Floyd, race, or both.

I haven't noticed the existence of a narrow pro-Russian grouping, but there is a fairly large pro-Eastern European cohort that is generally favorable of boxers from that area as well as those from certain ex-Soviet countries in Asia. It seems to me like rather than hating non-Eastern Europeans the members of this group simply aren't as favorable of them overall, with Americans being the least favorably viewed even by those from the US. As is the case with the Flomos I sense that some of the support is racially motivated.

Aside from fighters I think some prominent business people such as Haymon, Arum, Hearn, and Warren could have their own categories, with haters of one tending to be obvious supporters of another as is perhaps most clear with the last two.

All that said, while I think accusations of 'hating' (brackets because when used in boxing I don't take it to mean the same level of dislike I generally associate the term with) are suitable in certain cases, it seems to me like many people who cry hater do so just because someone isn't supportive of a certain fighter, even if the supposed hater is expressing constructive criticism, reasonable skepticism, or a cogent prediction that the fighter in question won't meet a certain standard. When it comes to non-competitors like Haymon and Arum I think much of the criticism is justified, but it seems disproportionately directed by certain people and criticism is often made when little is known about how the figure contributed to certain outcomes or what their plans, capabilities, and limitations are.

Hating Mayweather shouldnt give you a label. Its normal to dislike someone who is arrogant, bigoted, violent to women, disrespectful to fans and is a coward duck. One does not need to be a so called pactard.

I'm so glad Mayweather fans cannot play the race card when it comes to Floyd. He's that despicable of a person. Floyd cant use racism as an excuse as to why people hate him. (although he has on occasion, this must be dismissed) Thank Gawd

Funny. I was thinking the same thing myself. But I classified the Haters into 3 groups.

1) ALL white fighters, particularly white Europeans are superior.

2) ALL black fighters, particularly black Americans are superior.

3) EVERYTHING is LAME. Mayweather is overrated. Wlad is a boring cheat. Fury suxs. Wilder suxs. Everything is boring and lame.

Great, keep comments coming for further improvement. I amended several entries and added three more classes:

Hater haters – Despise even a slight criticism of their favorite fighters. Follow a philosophical doctrine known as "haters gonna hate". Include Flomos, Wilderites and the boxers themselves.
Hype train – Have been follow boxing since yesterday afternoon. Have no clue of what they are saying. But if it shines it must be gold. Hate all fighters not on the train and label them as “bums”.
Lemons – Unhappy for just about anything. Characterized by constant whinging and moaning. Include Brits.

I intentional avoided race topic. Because that sucks the fun out of everything.

When the topic of Floyd Mayweather comes up, I struggle to work up any enthusaism that is either positive or negative. Just 'he leaves me cold' is what comes to my mind when I watched the Maidana the fight. The battering of Gatti was impressive but still left me cold. His achievements are impressive but I still rank him behind Lennox Lewis, Joe Calzaghe, Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones for example as he is never cleaned out a division like they have. But then again my outlook is old school.

And the worse of the three are the haters. If boxing sucks so bad why do they watch it?

What about Overcompensators? Those who hate the fighter and want to see him lose just because he has a very vocal fanbase who are excited to see him fight and maybe think he is much better than he really is? And won't shut up about it?

A by-product of spending too much time on boxing forums perhaps.

I know I've been a little guilty of this myself once or twice.

Done it myself before, more to do with Sky Sports than any boxing forum though, the more Sky hype a fighter up, the more they start to piss me off.

Very true. One listening of Nick Halling and you start hating a boxer you loved a minute ago.
