Watched an interview with Eddie filmed by Kugan earlier today. In the interview they talked about Frampton fighting on ITV. Eddie reminded Kugan he called this in a recent interview then went on to talk about boxing on British TV. Eddie stated it's inevitable that BT will be getting into boxing then suggested he / SKY have an announcement due soon..... then thanked Al Haymon

Don't know if Eddie was just being cute, but it did come across there's going to be some more movements in terms of boxing broadcast in the UK in the very near future.

On the BT front,I just think he believes it`s inevitable for them to get involved at some stage,I doubt they have anything lined up just yet even through they might of been interested in Frampton.I think the bigger Haymon shows will end up Sky for sure and possibly the smaller one`s on fightpass.

The whole idea of Haymons PBC on NBC or PBC on SpikeTV is to bring back boxing to network/terrestrial TV...

I get the main aim of Haymons PBC is the American market, but it would be slightly hypocritical of Haymon to have done a deal with Hearn, meaning the UK public will have to pay a subscription fee to watch it on SKY TV or fightpass.

SpikeTV is also owned by the same company (Viacom) as Channel 5, so you would have thought that there would be real potential there to have Haymons PBC shows broadcast on Channel 5. Especially since many are being broadcast in the afternoon in the States, meaning primetime over here in the UK, reminiscent of the Fury vs Cunningham fight!

Is Spike TV a free channel or do you have to subscribe? Or does it come free with cable over there?

Didn't UFC start out on Spike? Is Haymon going the the UFC model?

Yes, I believe SpikeTV is free. And also yes, he would appear to be heading towards a UFC model of sorts. Wheher they will have there own belts and weight classes though like the UFC I doubt!

I wonder if Haymon has any kind of succession plan in place. He's almost sixty, which isn't old but it's old enough when you're shaking stuff up and breaking the mould. I'm not sure he's got the time to establish a new way of doing things that stands the test of time unless he's nurturing a capable apprentice to fill his shoes.
