Did they take place and who won?

Yeah, were apparently held on Jan 27th, strange nobody has heard anything!

All the rumours have been Lee will vacate for a big money fight in the US rather than fight BJS, no idea if true though.

Got delayed for 72 hours guys.

I wonder how much more money a fight with Quillen on NBC terrestrial TV will generate though? Surely a domestic fight with BJS on a £12 subscription channel which would generate the channel more (albeit potential short term) subscribers!

Obviously Haymon has the financial resources to temp Andy Lee over, but would he? Haymor nor Quillen appear to care that much about the WBO belt, hence why they chose to vacate it in the first place, so why fork out a huge chunk just to gain it back?

Quillen will be fighting on Haymons PBC on NBC in the future however, therefore he might want the exposure that winning a version of the middleweight title will bring for Quillin!

I thought Saunders facing Lee next was a done deal. Saunders is at risk of side-stepping himself out of the picture.

Just covering all the bases, winning that purse bid keeps him in control of the European title for Saunders and the date the fight is on, he won't be forced to vacate this way, he's done similar with Blackwell for the British title. Doesn't mean the Lee fight is off, same site jumped the gun with Ormond-Flanagan claiming it wouldn't be rescheduled because Frank won the purse bids for Flanagan-Cardle.

But was the purse bid actually held for the Lee-Saunders fight?. Would seem bizarre if Saunders stepped aside again. He stepped aside in the first place to let Lee fight Korobov for the title with him being mandatory for the winner. You'd have to think he would be fairly confident of beating Lee and becoming a world champ, so would be very odd to let the opportunity slip by.

Apparently its now a done deal for Lee to fight Peter Quillin, and BJS to get step aside money. Seems quite bizarre that allegedly wouldn't insist on Lee defending against Saunders. I'm a fan of Andy Lee, but don't see him beating Quillin, and then Saunders is left out in the cold. Quillin will have the title again and he wont defend it against Saunders. Maybe I'm missing something here????

Haymon seems to have very big pockets, so perhaps an exceptionally good step-aside offer was made.

perhaps plan B is for Saunders to face the winner of Eubank's pretend WBA championship fight. If that guy (forgotten his name) beats Eubank then he's viable for Saunders, if Eubank wins, the return is a natural, and a bigger fight than last time. Holding that crappy pretend WBA belt puts you in the frame for the moment the proper WBA champ makes a career move that vacates the WBA title. Fwank is particularly adept at steering his fighters to opportunities like that.

Haymon/allegedly deal? That might swing it

Saunders posted that he's getting six figures to step aside and that he'll face the winner. I think Quillin takes this and I don't see Saunders beating him in the US, where it seems like the fight would probably occur.

It also makes you mandatory for the super champ (Golovkin), however, not only is it the regular WBA championship, but the interim regular WBA championship

Saunders will still be mandatory and then Quillin will have to defend against him or vacate like he did against Korobov!
