LOL as soon as I read that first answer I knew what Leija was likely going to be debating with fans about. I definitely agree with the fans. I mean Leija fought so many name guys & even had several fights with HOF guys. Hard to see life f#ck up Bojado as the best guy. But he was the one that fought him so who am I to say.

Dig these articles & love the where are they now aspect to them in the opening. I like to see whats going on with ex-boxers who aren't Floyd or Manny rich, but don't have their dick in the dirt like Rocky Lockridge either.

These articles are always a joy to read. I loved Leija too, he was a crafty fellow and his win over Bojado was a fight I put on repeat after it had happened. Hard to see Bojado as the "best overall", but he fought them, so it's his say.

Read his autobiography, brilliant stuff, down to earth guy.

Nelson really was special - wish he'd got the fight with McGuigan, and I'm a brit, - he'd have pulverised him. Like Mike McCallum, a real technician.

Great read; nice to see he's doing so well outside of boxing too.

Love these articles.

Also, I found it interesting that the two hardest punchers he fought are both men who are naturally left handed, but fought as rightys. No wonder why Oscar's left hook and Micky's left to the liver were so effective

I feel like you see this with many boxers . . .when you are in a tough fight that you win, you're able to appreciate your opponent's skills more; whereas when you lose, you blame it more on your own shortcomings than simply acknowledging the guy was better than you. Hence the props to Bojado.
