ARUM BUSTED IN HIS OWN LIES BY KONCZ

Eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao’s longtime adviser Michael Koncz, has admitted that no contract has been prepared as yet for the planned May 2 multi-million dollar showdown between Pacquiao and undefeated pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Koncz said “its still a waiting game and there are no developments, nothing.”

Asked whether there was a contract prepared for the fighters to sign, Koncz replied “No” - which gives credence to Mayweather’s reprimand to both Koncz and Pacquiao to “stop lying” about a contract when they faced off at the Miami Heat-Milwaukee Bucks game at halftime in Miami on Tuesday.

World Boxing Council president Mauricio Sulaiman told BS/Manila Standard/Viva Sports in an overseas telephone conversation that he had “no idea about the contract because they keep very quiet about everything.”

However, Sulaiman said that while “only a few persons know what are the chances” of the fight happening, his “personal hope and feeling is that the fight will happen.”

Sulaiman remarked “the whole world wants to see the fight. It’s a fight the world deserves to watch. They have waited for many years. It can be a great year for boxing” should the fight push through.

He said the World Boxing Council which recognizes Mayweather as welterweight and super welterweight champion with Pacquiao ranked as No. 1 welterweight contender “ prepared everything for the fight to happen – no mandatory in either weight division. There can be no excuse, no obstacle for the fight not to happen.”

Well known Australian promoter Peter Maniatis informed the Standard that Mayweather and his entourage is scheduled to arrive in Australia on Wednesday and will be dinner guest at events in both Melbourne and Sydney before he winds up his four-day trip.

Come on Bruh, you say "duh" around here, around here in a place where guys like Bnovelist, Cheppaaa and Ricky post stupid sh* t on a daily basis believing people like Arum on a regular??

Notice how they all looked at this thread but had nothing to say, I'm certain they looked though.

Any human being with merely an ounce of “common sense” would surely realise that no contract would ever be drawn up in the history of mankind without there being a realistic possibility that it would be signed by all intended parties.

This means that Team Pacquiao may have agreed to all terms “in principle”, but they could never have been granted the opportunity to sign a legally-binding contract until Mayweather, HBO & Showtime have also approved to all the stipulations.

Bob Arum has an estimated net worth of $200m, which makes him one of the richest individuals in the sport of boxing… he didn’t amass that sort of wealth by being the nice guy!

I’m not entirely sure if I truly understand why lies in our beloved sports shock some people!

Put it this way, Manny Pacquiao (a part-time actor, model, singer, basketball coach, entrepreneur, non-tax payer and full-time professional boxer) has only attended congress during four days in 2014.

He’s a politician that has spent his whole life smiling and portraying a good-guy image, but if you were a member of the public from the Sarangani province, would you want him to represent you? Is he really the saintly good guy when he clearly doesn’t give a damn about his political obligations, nor does he seem willing to repay the US and Philippine governments the $68m he owes in taxes?

I suppose as long as he keeps smiling and calling Mayweather “a coward”, all the members of the anti-Mayweather brigade will continue to ignore his misdemeanours and lies!

Mayweather, Arum and Pacquiao are all as bad as each other outside the ring, but it does surprise me that some people feel compelled to choose sides!

Being devious behind a smiling and friendly persona (like Arum and Pacquiao) is at least as bad as being devious behind a cocky and arrogant persona! (like Mayweather)

Straddling the fence and somehow making it sound ok that Arum and Pacquiao have lied to the public is ok and we shouldn't be surprised, is kind of a pathetic view in my eyes. They (Pac, Arum, and Koncz) tried to turn the public's opinion against Floyd if the fight didn't get made, which I am still certain Arum doesn't want. The only difference now is Arum has been exposed, and even a few Pac fans are realizing it.

No one will argue that Floyd can be an ass outside the ring, and his ego along with his greed for money is second to none, but he is trying to make this fight. Pacquiao has never reached out to Floyd to make it, other than parroting what Arum tells him to say. He simply is not that bright, and has proved that in many ways. If he was not allegedly all juiced up a few years ago, I'm sure he would have agreed to the unlimited random testing, and this nonsense would all be history, but he didn't.

Manny has agreed to all of Floyd's terms, that can not be argued. Maybe Manny is considering that "contract" to be signed verbally by agreeing to terms publicly. We all sit here hinging on every bit of news, dissect it and throw blame. The bottom line is that for once, Manny has agreed not to stand in the way and wanted to say publicly that he agrees to everything. This puts a new pressure on Floyd in the eye of the fans, non fans and casual observers. Because this is news to everyone, that's how big it is.

And I'm really sick of people saying how "it's 3 years too late", "they should have fought 5 years ago in their price". BS. This is the perfect time for this fight. If this fight is mildly amusing, it's going to parlay into a franchise of fights for the ages because really these two fighters need each other now more than ever. These young guns coming up should be avoided. My prediction is that if this fight is agreed to, there will be at least one more...probably two. Then they will retire.

I think we all knew Arum was just stirring things up. Arum and BS go hand in hand. That being said, let's hope this thing gets made.

I think it can be argued that Manny hasn't agreed to any terms until a contract is officially signed, someone stating in public for media consumption that they agree should be taken with a grain of salt until they have officially signed a contract.

Manny hasn't signed anything yet, neither has Floyd and anyone pointing a finger at either of them right now hasn't a clue of how the networks (SHO/HBO) have to have their sh*t together long before the fighters can sign anything.
