I believe it. It's now or never.
It happens this year unless Floyd gets arrested, or something really odd happens.
Wonder how long the 24/7 will be for this one?

If one judge gave Canello a draw with Floyd,I see a problem in this one.
I see 118-110 Floyd
115-113 Floyd
116-112 Manny
Split decision
Something to that effect.
95% of the media will score it for Floyd.

ok. let's face it. this is the event of the year
in all of sports. the biggest trash prep affair
of all time. they will have numerous 24/7.
both camps being stalked to death by web-
"journalists". manny will be kayoed sparring
and floyd has to go to jail because beating
a hooker - tons of such rumours flying around
until the big night of nights.
i tell you this. floyd planned this carefully.
waited long enough, reflecting that his own
style would age slower than manny's. say
what you want, this career management is
definitely among the best ever.
truth wilder can be happy he had his
moment of attention before the two meet.
bernard will fight another year, because now
no one would even realise if he retires.

If this is true; hallelujah!
The end of the most tedious fight saga in boxing history is nigh; it's just a shame it's about six years too late!
Thanks Floyd!
Thanks Manny! :x

They're still elite world class fighters regardless of how much they've slipped. Which other realistic match-ups would clearly involve a higher level of combined ability?

They are at The Thrilla in Manila stages of their careers minus the first two matches!
I hope it is great and Floyd fights properly....a few of the modern day fighters have perfected their style just to win only under any conditions using any style that is effective only...i.e Wlad, Hopkins, Mayweather and Ward to a lesser extent. Monzon perfected this years ago.
Wlad has perfected the 'stand tall . jab and lean back at the same time..if the opponent comes near then clinch' That is what Manny taught him.

I heard they weren't going to do a 24/7 or All Access cuz of the channel drama with HBO & Showtime. I don't know how true that is. I'd assume even if HBO & Showtime got issues deciding who's filming when/what/where someone else would stand up & do a 24/7 or All Access type show & just throw it on ESPN or hell with Haymon's regular tv deal maybe regular tv to try to get an even wider audience invested.

As far as the network issue.. I'm betting both Showtime and HBO have a few special episodes on their fighters leading up to the fight. The Press tour is going to be electric.

I think that it would be cool if HBO did the 24x7 on Pacquaio and SHOWTIME did theirs on Mayweather independently. That would be great. Then in the last week they could come together on one of the networks.
I'm hearing that an announcement is not forthcoming this weekend and that surprises me and makes me think that this still has a ways to go before becoming a reality. They are missing some pub if they don't announce it on SB Weekend but this is big enough of an event to sustain itself i guess.

The coming together part IS the problem is what I've heard people suggest. I guess they could just do a Manny 24/7 & a Floyd All Access, but as a fan of both those shows it doesn't sound like the standard 24/7 or All Access. Taking a peek at both sides is what makes it compelling. You'll need both Showtime & HBO to get the full show & that sounds like a crappy concept if you don't got both channels. I think they aren't taking advantage of all their capabilities if they don't air some type of show somewhere though so I expect something somewhere.
After thinking about it more I don't think they wanna announce officially the day before or the day of the Super Bowl. 1)Its kinda bad form to try to announce the biggest sporting event, even though its old Floyd vs old Manny, during the typical years biggest sporting event & 2)You could get lost among or be second fiddle vs all the Super Bowl excitement. I think announcing Wednesday when all the Super Bowl sh!t has died down is when you wanna throw it out there.

Although you may be close on the round, it will have the opposite result. Floyd will beat Manny to the punch all night, especially with lead rights. The ref will stop it somewhere between the 9th and 12th round. Pac fans will accuse Floyd for being on the juice like they did with JMM, paying off the judges, paying off the ref, etc. Manny will have some moments, win 2 or 3 rounds early, and Pac fans will be on their feet cheering for every punch he throws hoping to influence the judges, even though most won't land. A 38 year old Floyd will make a 36 yr old Pac look over 40.
Whoever wins though, I hope it is a clear result with no controversy.

mayweather not fast enough on his feet anymore to cope with the angles pac will be firing from, laying on the ropes wont help him and pac dosent fade late like most of floyds opponents, so pac on points or corner retirement for me

Mayqeather will alter his camp to cope with the angles of Manny and will work on power shots to keep Pacquiao from marching straight through him. Manny is a marvelous attacking fighter but is no where in Floyd's class in defence or counterpunching. I also remember Marquez landing a hard shot on Floyd and then Mayweather hittng back within seconds to have Marquez down and honest.
This is still a brilliant bout.

It depends on how well Kovalev deals with Pascal; if he wrecks him it shows Bernard has the skills to compete just below elite level; if Pascal toys with Kovalev then it surely shows that retirement is the best option.

Stephan Espinoza is saying otherwise.
Stephen Espinoza, head of Showtime Sports, spoke to BS.com to set the record straight regarding a series of stories that were widely circulated on Friday.
The first story appeared in the New York Post, where Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who promotes Manny Pacquiao, told the paper that a deal might be finalized in the "next couple of days" for a May 2nd mega-fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
The second story appeared on TMZ, where the website claimed that Mayweather-Pacquiao was a "DONE DEAL."
Espinoza's network has an exclusive agreement with Mayweather and he completely denies the information that appeared in both publications.
Showtime/CBS continue to hold ongoing discussions with HBO/Top Rank to make the fight.
"These series of reports that the fight is done is completely baffling to us. Rick, this deal is not close to being done - and everyone involved knows that. Top Rank's lawyers have said that there are significant open issues, so I don't understand how Bob can conceivably be saying the fight is imminent and will be closed within the next couple of days," Espinoza told BS.com.
"The bottom line remains the same that it has been for the last couple of weeks - we are continuing to work hard to make a deal. We are continuing to make progress, but there are meaningful open issues. We can't celebrate getting two-thirds across a minefield. You celebrate when you completely cross and you are clear of danger. Right now we are still in the minefield."
