Why? Just....why?

Darnell Wilson is a good fighter at least he is top 100. Most fights are matched against non top 100 fighters. He has lost a lot of fights recently but rarely gets stopped and only fights the better boxers. The perfect gatekeeper really. If Mike Perez can stop him it will be a good performance, I expect it will be wide points but Darnell will be there looking to capitalise if Perez lose's interest and it would not be the first time he has caused an upset.

Mike Perez needs to get his weight down. He had the beating of Bryant but his conditioning let him down.

It's a massive shame. I understand he's had a tough time mentally since the fight with Magomed but his dedication and conditioning has been a problem since the start of his career. He really shouldn't be weighing much more than 220lbs. He's not as bad as Solis but he's yet another uber talented Cuban whose lack of discipline is stopping him from maximizing his talent. I hope he can pull it together; he's still only 29.

This fight is just a warm up and Wilson is durable, so it's obvious they're just looking to get Perez a few rounds in before fighting Povetkin. I think if (BIG if) he can sort his conditioning out and is able to maintain his movement and workrate for 12 rounds, he's stands a very good chance of beating Povetkin. I won't hold my breath though.

I don't see how Perez could be rated above Povetkin seeing their recent results vs Takam, especially. They're both good, rugged HWs with skill and somewhat undersized. Povetkin has another gear to get some KOs, where Perez does not.

Povetkin vs Perez... close fight until Povetkin dominates the late rounds...

It's a warm-up for Perez, no reason to complain about tonight's match up.

Povetkin may fight Perez next, or he may be fighting Chagaev in June for the WBA "World" title.

I hope Povetkin won't fight Chagaev again. In their first fight Chagaev was already past his prime, but now he is completely shot. Povetkin vs Perez would be much more competetive fight. Povetkin should go for the WBC title, not the paper belt he already held.

Wilson was a decent HW gatekeeper a few years back but now he's just old and fat.

Wilson was a decent cruiser gatekeeper. He's a scrub at HW and completely washed up. Obviously just a sparring session here.

His KO of Emmanuel Nwodo, tho.

Who cares, he deserves the money.

In an interview he said he got the nickname for reasons other than boxing, and it was noted that he laughed when he said that. I too get the sense that it's phallus-related.

He has speed, skills and high boxing IQ. I think he is too small for the HW, but he can be top-10 HW in the future like Eddie Chambers was. Would like to see him in the CW division.

Looks like Hunter cruised past Gibson.........Gibson beat Danny Kelly then had a draw with Alexander Flores. For his 7th fight thats a solid win
