mayweather-pacquiao is about to happen
rigondeaux will finaly fight somebody big time after donaire and that is cruz
ggg is ggg, he is a bezerker will walk through anybody
kovalev-adonis might surely happen in the next 11 month, the winner of that could be a candidate for #1 spot,
letss ay kovalev wins both next fight, than hopkins, pascal, stevenson on top the ko % and being unbeaten and prime
could make em #1 if the his own dream scenario turns out like planned.
and maybe gonzales makes a fight again against estrada or does something spectacular

Really there is only two options here, and that is Mayweather and Pacquiao.
If Mayweather wins then he will be top, if Pac Man wins then he will be top. The only other scenario would be one of them losing later on in the year if they have a fight, but that would be unlikely.

If they don't fight each other, neither will deserve to be #1

it depends on the fashion how you win.....
if pac beats floyd, but both look slow and totaly out of prime, why should pac than be #1? just because he beat a way past prime floyd.
or other options they dont fight each other.
but lets say ggg keeps looking super impressiv and his ability is just top of the top, than i see no reason why he should not be #1.
for example the floyd of the corrales fight technicly and speed wise totaly dominates prime of now golovkin,
the past rime slower floyd of now, who struggled and got hit and needed to crab and hold and a ref to win against maidana,
this version in a p4p same size same weight contest would surely get the sh/()it punched out of himself.
like i said before, some judge by record like you, i judge who is better, regardles of quality of opposition.

LOL for you stating "a way past prime Floyd" because everyone here knows that should Pac win you will be the first one here with 1,000 posts stating how great Manny is and how he beat the best in boxing and yadda, yadda, yadda.
Make your case now, is Floyd the best or will Manny have just beaten a "way past his prime Mayweather" and not deserve such high accolades from you should he win??
We're waiting to hear this one..........................................................
By the end of the year the #1 guy will be Mayweather, especially when he beats Manny (who isn't way past his prime though he may be out of it).
The only way 3G wins P4P #1 is if he beats Ward, Kovalev has no chance because outside of BHop there just isn't anyone who carries that much weight and if he beats 3G then he'd only be beating a smaller man.

I’m not so sure that I approve of the frenzied praise and accolades that Gennady Golovkin is drawing are wholly justified on the back of dominant victories against mid-tier opposition.
It’s not my intention to criticise or attempt to undermine GGG’s feats in any way; it’s just that I feel that he’s been granted an honorary rite of passage leading him to close to the very summit of the mythical pound-for-pound top-ten mountain without having fought the very best.
Golovkin probably is the “real deal” in terms of pedigree, but he hasn’t proven this yet against elite-level opposition… and this is something that I feel he has to do in order to deserve the recognition he’s currently receiving.
In terms of the other elite fighters (i.e. Pacquiao & Mayweather), they’ve been considered “the best” for quite some time now… and if they face each other, you can’t criticise “the best” for facing “the best”, even if they look far less dominant and destructive than those who merely dominate borderline top-ten contenders.
After all, the best opponents on GGG’s resume (Daniel Geale & Matthew Macklin) aren’t fit to carry the jockstraps of Manny or Floyd.
If you’re able to take a leap of faith any “buy” into the idea that a fighter has genuine pedigree merely by looking impressive against moderate level opposition (such as Jorge Luis Gonzalez and Michael Grant, before being destroyed by Riddick Bowe & Lennox Lewis respectively), then that’s your prerogative.
yeah and that is where we are totaly different, which is okay.
you say, a boxer has to show the skills against top level to be determined #1
and i judge a boxer more about his skill and athletic ability than by record.
a boxer doesnt nececessarly have to beat a world class boxer, to be a world class boxer.
also, at the end......both version arent 100 % accurate of weather you are #1 or not.
my best fighter who hasnt fought a world class boxer can lose and therefore not be #1,
but also a proven p4p king, unbeaten primed fighter who beat a world class fighter who than was #1, because he earned it,
isnt in reality #1.
good examples are prime mosley, who looked incredible against oscar and was knocking dudes left and right and was #1 p4p
and obviously wasnt, because there was forrest.
so....nothing is 100 %, but i do believe it is better to judge on what you see and thats unbelievable power, speed and skills, than
only by going, yeah he beat this dude and therefore he is #1.

anyway, I've been saying for a while the best p4p fighter on the planet is GGG, most people just don't know it yet. Triple G will knock out Murray, and not much will be said of it.
Hopefully he gets a big fight by the end of the year, perhaps Froch in Vegas. KO the cobra then i think then everyone will sit up and take note.

i make my case now.
if floyd comes in the pacquiao fight same looking like in the maidana 2 fight and manny wins, than manny won against a way past prime floyd.
pacquiao looked tremendous in his last bout, if the same version comes in the mayweather fight and floyd beats him, than floyd
beat a very good version of manny.
but to me it is not about winning or losing, i dont watch boxing because i like or dislike somebody. i am neutral, i dont know any boxer personly.
the only reason why i watch boxing is action and when a boxer brings action than i like his fighting style and when he doesnt bring action i dislike his fighting style.
floyd is boring so i dislike his fightingstyle regardless if he wins or not.

I know it sounds scary, but Amir could end up wearing the pound-for-pound crown in two fights time.
It won’t happen, but if Khan defeats Miguel Cotto next and then emerges victorious by beating the winner of the Pacquiao-Mayweather bout, then he’ll almost certainly be regarded as the pound-for-pound number one.
It's a verrrrrrrry loooooooooong shot, but I’d never thought I’d ever be able to propose that Amir Khan is merely two fights away from “greatness”!

ok ferg. You need help if you seriously believe it can happen.
I agree with a lot you say but this is one time I think you
Might need therapy.
