Matchroom give Darren Corbett the elbow

Belfast banger Darren Corbett has been rocked by promoter Barry Hearn's decision to refuse him a fight on the June 26 show at the King's Hall in Belfast topped by Brian Magee against Robin Reid.
"My name is on the posters but I have been told there is no fight for me," said Corbett.
Matchroom say they need to be convinced of Corbett's fitness and desire before making a match for him. Reading between the lines, it looks the end for Corbett who does more talking than fighting nowadays and is clearly past his best.

He always had terrible conditioning.

Uncle Buddha-tits had a reasonable dig, but it is clear, short of him getting a shellacking from David Haye that his career is stagnant.

Never warmed to him. He always seemed entirely graceless.

I loved it when Bruce Scott hammered him.

You can understand Matchroom pulling him off the show if they had any doubt whatsoever. Corbett quit in the middle of his last fight when the going got tough. That was shocking.
