What do you guys think of this? I know all Fans of BJS want this fight to happen because IF both he and Lee win they can unify in England/Ireland.

But isnt this a bit unfair for the beast in 160 named GGG? He has been trying to unify 5 years straight and these guys might get a chance sooner than him?

The best scenario for me would be BJS rejecting the fight which will result into #5 Lemieux vs Ndam.. That would be an awesome fight.

Billy Joe must be paying advertising money to all these belt makers. In the last idk 3 weeks I think he's had purse bids &/or fights ordered for Andy Lee's belt, some European belt & now this vacant belt.

I'd rather see Billy Joe vs David than these other fights.

£310k apparently to step aside from his WBO title fight, got big money for fighting Eubank Jr after stepping aside for Lee last year, still holds the British, Commonwealth and European titles, £85k purse for a European title fight if he chooses to keep the belt and now he has a world title fight, that will probably be at home, for good money and if he wins and Lee wins, he's got a huge money unification fight. No wonder he was trying to buy a Lambo a couple of weeks ago.

Mickey on the British + Irish section said it had been mentioned, he doesn't know if it's true but I think he's pretty well connected in travelling circles so it wouldn't surprise me if it was. $472,846 to step aside and fight for another world title is good going.

Wow ! This is more than most of Golovkin's opponents got for their beatings.

You are not saying anything about how unfair this is for the division. Dont u feel the same? Because If BJS wins he will not fight GGG while Lemieux will surely fight him

back in the 80's the IBF would have just declared the winner of the golovkin-murray fight
the IBF champ if they were willing to pay the sanction fee, because the IBF wanted the
top guys to have their title. they still get the sanction fee so why would they want either
of these guys carrying their title instead of golovkin? golovkin fights a few times a year
for more money, so financially and every other way this doesn't make sense for IBF, no offense
to bjs and ndam.

Agree with the disagree lol. Back in the day the abc belts were pretending the other belts all had cooties so no abc org would ever make some other fight involving another champion up for their vacant belt. I don't believe that ever happened tbqh. Anyone got an example of a abc org champion fighting for a vacant "other" abc org title? Unification fights happened & were discussed back in the day obviously, although even in those cases I believe the abc orgs were more a hindrance than a help in making them happen, but 100% of the time vacant titles I can think of were for guys ranked under that particular abc orgs rankings.

Edit: Or you maybe going back before my time when the IBF was COMPLETELY NEW & gifting their belt to mfers. I don't know that whole scenario so you maybe right, but that was a very short period of time from my understanding.

like i said. they wanted the best guys to have their belt, and i'm not sure at all how
you can say the ibf and wbo in the 80's or even most of the 90's were the same.
the wbo had guys fighting for belts who had already lost multiple times fighting
for the others against opponents who weren't even ranked by any of the others.
the interim in perpetuity belts didn't exist and those ridiculous super belts didn't,
either. if there was any option back then for the ibf to have a guy like golovkin
to hold their title instead of having guys like bjs and ndam fight for it, they would
have had golovkin fighting for it.

It seems as though fighters are queueing up for an opportunity to challenge for the WBO & IBF belts, but not the WBA "super" title held by Gennady Golovkin.

They all say that they want to fight Golovkin but "not right now" Hopefully, Lemieux will be able and willing to fight for the IBF title and then unification with GGG.

By the way, WBA "regular" champion, Danny Jackobs, won his title in August but doesn't have any fight scheduled. I am pretty sure that the "interim" champion, Chudinov, would love to fight him. Looks like Danny is waiting for daddy Haymon to get him an easy fight for a real title.

Sturm has moved up and will fight either Stieglitz or Abraham next, Saunders has a signed contract to fight for the WBO title for a lot of money, fighting N'Dam wouldn't pay him anything close to that.

Couldn't Saunders fight N'Dam and then fight Quillin/Lee winner ???

I dunno how BJS even got into the title mix. He hasn't beaten anyone noteworthy, plus I saw the Eubank fight and he looked average at best. His only saving grace is that he's young and could potentially improve.

What about Lemieux then? Based on your standards he's beat no one and has lost to a couple of average fighters. How is he in the title mix?
