The BoxRec top 5 for Great Britain consists of Ovill McKenzie who has 12 losses and lost to journeymen in his first 5 bouts. #2 and #4 are blown up light heavyweights. #3 Afolabi had a draw in his 12th fight against a 10-7-2 journeyman. He was 8-1-3 after 12 fights. #5 Matty Askin is 17-2 and lost to Jon-Lewis Dickinson who was KO'd by the beforementioned McKenzie. Now Askin is fighting McKenzie.

yup, if you don't feel Jordan is ready for Usyk then get him to fight McKenzie would be a step up
records mean very little especially when there padded

and if you knew more about McKenzie then reading stuff off boxrec you would know that he started pro boxing part time while working as a chef and was thrown in the deep end and had zero amateur experience. Completely the opposite to guys who pad out there records

i remember you telling me before that you weren't looking to fight Usyk as he was ranked below Jordan but now since he is ranked 4th beating him would put you in poll position for a title shot
is that a fight Al and you are looking to make?

You and everyone else will just have to wait and see what Al has planned. Look to see Jordan Shimmell in a major televised fight in the next few months. Al has the P4P best, highest paid boxer in the world who also happens to come out of the same gym as Jordan Shimmell. Grand Rapids, Michigan is the home of Jordan Shimmell and is the hometown of Floyd Mayweather Jr. Peter Quillin is also from Grand Rapids.

Bruh you can't come into this forum as the only guy who's talked to Al Haymon, who's either the messiah of boxing or the evilest guy in the history of the sport in 95% of fans opinions, & not tell us some Al Haymon info. I seen Breadman, Julian Williams trainer, talking about his dealings with Al & he said Al is pretty short basically. "Who you wanna fight", "Who can you beat". And than makes it happen. Or is there a shaky red dot on your forehead at all times & the moment you start typing sh!t about Al they take you out?
Randomly I think sometime next year, assuming Jordan keeps winning & Deontay keeps his title I could see him getting a prime time HW title fight on national TV.

Reggie Diggs is from Grand Rapids
Personally I feel Quillin isn't a GR fighter, but yea he lived in GR. I've never viewed him as a GR fighter I know that much & his GR boxing connections are minimal iirc (lived in GR as a kid & never boxed amateur in GR, left GR & then got into boxing in NY).

His answer was an obvious NO.
Jordan Shimmell 2014 opponents:
Phil Williams - 37-year-old, blown up super middleweight with just 3 wins in his last 11 fights.
Joell Godfrey - 4 wins in his last 13 fights
Epifanio Mendoza - over-the-hill, blown up middleweight with double digit stoppage losses
Jonathan Corn- Jordan gave him his 11th consecutive loss
Damon McCreary - 40-years-old, lost 4 of 5 with the one win coming from a 3-8-1 opponent
Damon Read - over 40, 5th loss in 6 fights
McKenzie and Usyk would both represent a massive step up from that list of designated opponents.

Mckenzie sucks.......usyk is a stud.....so if shimmell cant beat usyk what hes not worth talking about??? Cleverly....mvkenzie and tony blew cant beat usyk either.
Shimmel hasnt beat anybody to yell about but hes a decorated amateur....hes young and hes been very busy. I dont mean to be a fanboy but dennis is throwing jordans name around in the forum so u can keep an eye on him when he does make his move

Reggie, Peter Quillin learned to box in GR. I sparred with him when he was 16. Over the next couple of years he often would spar with Jordan. He then moved to NY to start his pro career.

18 fights later were still waiting for something other than a journeyman opponent...

Usyk is a decorated amateur ,Jordan is a guy who never got past national level in a country where amateur boxing is weak
if jordan wants to do anything he should be fighting over in europe because thats where 95% of the top cruiserweights and all the belts are
Dennis was well able to say Usyk wasn't on there agenda because he was ranked lower and that it was a fight they would look to in the future, now that the Usyk fight would basically be a title eliminator he goes all quiet when asked would they fight Usyk
and if no Usyk at least someone half decent, when Ovill McKenzie would represent a huge step up after 18 fights you know you have only been fighting bums

I noticed you didn't respond to my Al Haymon question lol. I take your non-answer to mean one of the assassins who work for Al Haymon has already threatened your life over ever mentioning a thing about Al other than you are aware there is a person named Al Haymon & you have a deal with him.
As a Michigan boxer fan he just doesn't pass my GR/Michigan boxer test. Did he fight in the West Michigan Golden Gloves at least (I know he fought in the NY GG)? I've seen Jordan box in GR/Michigan. Hell I've seen Niall Shimmell box in GR/Michigan (does he still box btw?). And even if I hadn't I could look it up & see they had. I've never seen anything more than videos or stories of Peter visiting GR/Michigan gyms since he's been a semi-name guy.
Idk if just sparring & having a couple amateur bouts in a town/state should make you a boxer of that town/state. But I am picky, I'm questionable about 90's great amateur & infrequent pro boxer (14 fights, 11-1-2, over a 9 year career) Alvin Manley, being a "Michigan" boxer still today (lol) even though he won a golden gloves (michigan & national) title representing Flint cuz he 1)wasn't born in Michigan & 2)cuz he left & won a golden gloves title from some southern state & a national representing that same southern state.

Haymon is private, I respect that. His organization is making big moves in boxing. Jordan is part of that and I'm happy about it.
Niall no longer boxes. He's been in the USAF for 2.5 years.
Peter Quillin grew up in GR, MI. He didn't have a lot of amateur bouts but I know he fought some in Michigan. Idk if he ever boxed in the local GG. The foundation for his boxing skills was put down in GR, MI. He developed them further in NY and CA. Probably other places as well.
Jordan trained and boxed in MI. He has also trained and boxed in many other places. He lives in the GR, MI area and has since he was a little boy. However, he was born in Sheboygan, WI and lived in Columbus, OH for 3 years. Is he a MI boxer? Floyd hasn't lived in GR, MI for many years but he is definitely a product of GR. He was born and raised there. A lot of his family and longtime friends live in the area. He started boxing there and won an Olympic bronze while training mostly there. Is he a MI boxer?

In regard to Usyk, he is a good fighter. I'm looking forward to he and Jordan fighting at some point. It just won't be in Ukraine. BTW, I remember watching Usyk lose to my friend Shawn Porter in late 2006 in an amateur dual, USA vs Ukraine.
