Your best bet is to fly out to Vegas immediately & camp outside the MGM Grand until the tickets go on sale. Let us know how it goes.

Who cares? Even if the fight was made i wouldn't give a shit. They are both AT LEAST a couple of years past their best any way. Khan would smash Mayweather now.

I think Khan could be dominant at welter after both Manny and Floyd retire but I want the bout to be made and I will stay up to watch and enjoy the build up.

Confirmed by whom?
I haven't noticed that the Earth had stopped rotating, so FMJ can't have announced it yet.

Whilst it is a few years too late how far back do people think we need to go for a bigger fight? FMJ v DLH or was there one since then? Or do people think we need to go back further?

Although the fight should have happend a long time I go, I find it hard to believe that boxing fans wont get excited about this (if or when its announced)
As for Khan smashing mayweather, please.
Mayweather would beat Khan comfortably, Pacquiao would likely knock him the f*ck out.
I cant see Khans chin holding out for him to ever be dominant in a division.

I think Khan will settle at this weight and is developing his man strength, I also think that under Hunter, Khan won't get nailed half as often.
The Floyd v Manny bout is still massive, my wife and son want to see it and I'll pay the ppv and stay up for this, it is a major fight and an event.

thinking exactly the same.in a perfect world.not a single person would pay for this fight. Every boxibg fan has wanted this for so long.could be either one of em now wants a good few mill payday and walk off.fornicate em. The fans wanted this years ago and they wanted too sort them selves. Mayweather a pudendum and I wouldn't watch the prick if he fought in my lounge

I think even now it's bigger than May vs De La Hoya. The DLH fight was huge in America because of DLH's Mexican/Latino fan base, but the Pacquiao fight has more global appeal IMO. I reckon even now it would be as big as Lewis/Tyson was.
Ignoring hype and just going on quality, if it had happened in 2010 I'm thinking it would be the first time that unquestionably the two best fighters in the world had met in their primes since Chavez/Whitaker.
It's still a good fight on paper, but it will be hard not to feel like it's a shadow of what might have been. I'm more excited about Matthysse/Provodnikov now.

There are match ups where we are guaranteed more brutal action and knock outs but Manny may have the attributes to unlock the Floyd puzzle or at least put him under very serious scrutiny, just because it is way overdue and the 2 will make tens of millions of dollars doesn't make it a fraud bout.

Why its lost its lustre for me.
Had it happened 4/5 years ago, as well as making a lot of money, it would have been historically significant for
either guy, and would have been one of those sports events you could say you'd witnessed.
If Pac wins it's obviously still huge. But for it to make a major difference to Mayweather's legacy now I think he has to knock Pacquiao out or dominate him. If he could figure out that awkward style/rhythm and time him with something in 12 rounds (when it took Marquez four fights) that would really be something special. If he boxes his way to a safety first victory I'm not sure he'll get the credit for it.
I'm just thinking from a fan's perspective, not really taking account of the business side of things.

Echoing above comments really.
If it happened in 2010 then it would have been one of the biggest sporting events ever to happen, and I say that with an admitted bias to the sport of boxing, but it would have been the two best fighters in the world, in their prime going toe to toe.
However now it all feels a bit like the two of them are just cashing in, obviously FMJ is securing his legacy and believes Pacquaio doesnt possess the same threat he did 5 years ago, which I would say is correct.
Pacquaio has recent defeats on his record so a loss against FMJ wont be as big as it would have been in 2010, and he might see this as his final paycheck before fully going into politics.
However they're still two of the best around and I will be making a weekend of it, even though it will be Mayweather on points.

I get pissd off when my mates who are casual fans bring this fight up,especially the last couple of weeks,do not get me wrong I hope it happens but its not half the fight it was a few years back but since we are starved of 50/50 fights these days I'll take it,but both teams are disgraceful,Groves and DeGale harrasing Froch,or Froch harassing Calzaghe or even Clay badgering Liston ,these are examples of boxers trying to force a fight, neither Mayweather or Pacquiao have giving me the impression that their desperate for this fight,if at least 1 of them REALLY wanted it they would have embarrassed the other guy into signing it but nah they'll keep on keeping on and take the pounds if they've nowhere else to go without being criticised
What pisses me off most though is the fact that I want to see it after their bullshit..............and yes I have been drinking

Thats pretty much how i feel about it. If it comes off, good, i'll watch it and likely get into the build up as its bound to be overhyped beyond anything weve ever seen, but i doubt i will be half excited as some. Its not just that the fight is long overdue, its that both are now in their late thirties and no longer in their primes, its passed its sell by date but still edible if you catch my drift.
Also, my gut feeling is the fight could very well turn out to be a bit of a damp squid, most of Mayweathers fights are these days.

And when we get down to the bottom line,as intriguing as the fight will be it can't be anything other than a letdown, not just because of the hype but stylistically neither fighter are exactly explosive these days, especially Mayweather,if the fight happens I bet it goes down like a knackered lift
