Ian John- Lewis Should Be Suspended For Poor Officiating

Following yesterday's Carson Jones-Brian Rose early stoppage, this article shows great inconsistency, a series of bad ref and judging calls from this ref. He is simply NOT a quality official, but he keeps getting high profile fights. Camps should object to the use of Ian John Lewis as a ref or judge whenever possible:

Idk about other fights, but the ref gots a margin of error that involves Rose waking up in his bed or waking up in the hospital in the morning. If a guy isn't taking a knee or offering a certain level of resistance or defense I think its pretty run of the mill to have a fight stopped early. I definitely agree it was an earlier stoppage, but the fighter gots some play in this too. Guys need to learn to strategically take a knee sometimes.

I agree. Rose wasn't fighting back, so he needed to take the knee. British judges are known for quick stoppages, so there was no big surprise except that a guest fighter was at a benefiting end.

The ref did what he thought was best.We as fans may not agree but he had the call to make.

Ian John Lewis has serious form when it comes to premature stoppages, either he is incompetent or corrupt.

I don't know if you follow the British scene enough to have seen the catalogue of Ian John Lewis fvck-ups. The index would be at least 3 pages long. His judging is actually worse than his refereeing. He's a very, very poor ref.

Depends who is fighting.
He let Shannon Briggs take a terrible beating from Vitali, round after round. Briggs was hospitalized after the fight.
Lewis clapped his hands for Briggs when the fight ended.
Ian John-Lewis always has his own agenda. He was rooting for Briggs, no doubt he was rooting for Carson Jones last Saturday.
I agree he should be suspended.

He should have been sacked years ago, he's unfit for purpose.
He also holds my title for "most obviously corrupt boxing scorecard/decision". Given some of the referee decisions & bad scorecards i;ve seen in this sport, that really is some achievement IJL.
The scorecard in question;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDCIKUTEw0M
In Joe Ainscough's bout against Wayne Reed in Prizefighter, a 3 round fight.
Ainscough clearly won the first round getting the better of what was some good action alot of shots landing.
Ainscough just edged the 2nd round for me too, but a close round. 20-18 for me this point but alot of cards would have been 19-19.
Now the farce comes in round 3.
In the 3rd round, Reed turn it around, hurting Ainscough multiple times, Ainscough was in survival mode in a couple of spots, and tried to follow up a shot he landed late in the round, only to be floored by a combination with 10 seconds left. There is no "debate", no weighing-up to be done, this is a 10-8 round to Reed all day long.
My scorecard; 28-28.
Ian John-Lewis scored the fight.... wait for it.....
30-28 Ainscough.
That's a break down of
R1, 10-9 Ainscough
R2, 10-9 Ainscough
R3, 10-10 Draw
He's a fuckin crook.

For me it the responsability of Robert Smith and the Board of the Control to handle this matter. I am sure that Robert Smith will have received a copy of the Inspector's report regarding Saturday's fight between Brian Rose and Carson Jones. And if he has questions I am sure Mr Smith will make a call to Ian John Lewis and invite him for meeting to discuss the matter.

It's been said before, but there's just no accountability. Does anyone know when the last time was when the Board questioned a referee or Wefewee? For example, has the BBB of C up until now been delighted with the performances of Terry O'Connor and friends?

Why? He saved ROSE from an absolute beating!

Exactly. Maybe it's a drawback of being less mainstream. If the equivalent of Terry O'Conner carrying Cleverly back to this stool (vs Kovalev) happened in a high profile NFL or English Premiership match, it would be discussed endlessly on the news.
