I'm well excited for this weekends fights but this is the big one,I can't really make a case for Murray but I give him a better chance than most at MW,Martin's biggest asset is his "I don't give a fvck who you are or where I am" attitude which is essential if he has a chance against Golovkin

Murray's put a performance in a hostile environment(Argentina) where today's pound for pound stars wouldn't even dream of stepping into and he won that fight IMO,Martin does have a tendency to make easy fights hard and ugly but against a stylish boxer like Gennady ,making it ugly is the order of the day if he's to give himself half a chance I would have thought

I'm 90% GGG wins this and probably by stoppage,he's a special talent and it will take a bit more than heart and will to beat him but I'll still believe

Throw in Hekkie Budler's WBA Straweight defence against Jesus Silvestre ,Lee Haskins-Omar Lamiri for the vacant European Bantamweight title and Hughie Fury-Andrey Rudenko

Thats a cracking nights boxing in anyone's book,I just hope we get all these fights shown

I feel murray can take this one the distance with the right gameplan, i'm seeing a decision for golovkin but not a total shutout.

Best of luck to Martin and Lee; I'm imagining another Golovkin showcase but Murray does have a strong temperament and will be well conditioned and determined. I've not seen the fellow Haskins will box but on his day Lee is really very good and it's high time he got somewhere with the talent he has.

I don't believe in ghosts. People have GGG down as other-worldly but who's he fought? He's looked impressive no doubt but Murray is harder than any of the guy on GGG's resume and I expect him to provide a legitimate test.

I'm buzzing for this one, love watching GGG fight - no-nonsense, all business, puts the pressure & hurt on from the first bell.

Can't honestly say I've enjoyed watching Murray too much over the years, far too negative & 'by the numbers' for my taste. Hope he comes out with his head held high but am expecting GGG to do a number on him.

I'm gutted I have a guy in works night out on Saturday so I'll have to TiVo both shows,its time like these I'm grateful nobody likes boxing so no chance of anyone letting the cat out the bag

Still its gutting to be looking forward to it all week knowing I'm not watching it until a day later

From what I have seen of channel 5's coverage unless there are quick stoppages we will miss at least 2 of the bigger fights , too much analysis for me , usually some great scraps on the undercard , good luck to Murray , will be some achievment if he can do it .

Murray doesn't seem to take many clean shots, but I fear for him if he has his hands up high and is static.

I can see GGG going to the body early. I hope Murray pulls it off I really do - but if forced to bet my house on the result, then it's GGG on PTS.

I dont think Golovkin has it all his own way though, infact, I can see his invincible reputation taking a knock in this fight.

I think there's a solid chance that he'll put the earmuffs on and mainly look just to survive, and he seems sufficiently sturdy and defensively capable to take GGG longer than the latter is used to going. As mentioned though, his high guard could make him susceptible to body shots and GGG is dangerous downstairs.

Murray seems like he's GGG's sturdiest opponent in at least a while, which adds some interest for me, but overall I don't think he's on a higher level overall than opponents like Geale and Macklin were.

We'll see. I have GGG a strong favourite but I can't help but think Matt Macklin was already done when he fought him. Rubio was just there for the money. I don't know much a Geale if I'm honest.

i bet Murray was straight on the phone to Ian John Lewis after the Rose stoppage, that's the ref he needs for this one.

he did well in argentina but i would think the atmosphere in monte carlo will be pretty poor, just the odd clinking of champagne glasses as you get stoved in hardly stirs the soul.

the sooner he gets out of there with his cash and senses intact the better. but then we all thought mcclellan was an indestuctable monster who was going to steamroll benn.....

They do in Newport, because every year when I'm in Wales they seem to have boxing on Channel 5, for some reason. I've watched Channel 5 boxing on portable tellys in small B&B.

True, but the problem will be the same. I'll be watching snooker on Sunday night as well.

If it comes to it, I can watch it on Catch Up telly on my Virgin box when I get home.

This. I think we also need to bear in mind that Murray has never been in with someone who can bang like GGG - what struck me with the Macklin fight was that Macklin seemed genuinely shocked by the heat that GGG brought in terms of power and cutting off the ring... very different type of fight to Sturm or Martinez.

I think this fight will be easier for Golovkin than many are predicting. Murray can't trade back with GGG, meaning I think Golovkin will walk straight through him and Martin will use the hands up high peek-a-boo style.

Once he feels those shots, he won't even want to throw. I can't see how Martin suffers anything other than a battering if he can get through it. I don't think he will get through it and he'll be rolling on the floor by round 4-5 from a body shot but you never know what kind of shot Golovkin might be able to land with KO power. Look at the shot he did Rubio with, like a sledgehammer to the forehead.

I agree, I fancy GGG, but hopefully Murray can pull something off.

Looks like only a 2 hour show. Don't know why they can't show the undercard on 5star.
