Gennady Golovkin Vs Tureano Johnson May 16

If Golovkin wins there is a high possibility that he will face Tureano 18(13)-1 I believe Tureano is a very good boxer whose only loss came against Curtis stevens in a premature stoppage at round 10..
BUT, I really dont think he could pose any single problem to GGG, Curtis landed 200+ punches on him Golovkin will literally oblirare him, ALSO he hasnt even won against any Top25 Middleweight WHY does they even talk about him?
I know there are limited options but there are guys like Heiland , Chudinov (If he beats Eubank) , Jacobs (Al Haymon Protected) , and ofc Cotto that doesnt have a fight lined up which can be WAY BETTER options than Johson..
What do you gusy think?

Excluding Canelo,Cotto and Ward there is not a name that excites me against GGG.
I would pick GGG over Cotto and Canelo.I do not know what ward will look like after a
2 year layoff.
All other fights with GGG just don't excite me.No name recognition.

Where exactly is this Tureano talk coming from ??? Fighting somebody beaten by Stevens ??? Why would Golovkin do that ??? Why would HBO agree to that ???

GGG would put a beating on him. Tureano has a very crowd pleasing style and I'm a fan, but his lack of defense would allow GGG to land just about everything. He's got a strong chin, but that would likely just serve to keep him in a losing fight longer than others.

I was bout to sh!t on this idea til I looked at the 160 layout. There isn't a whole lot of choices here & Johnson did get a solid W last time out so maybe it happens. Seems like a massacre & a extremely forgone conclusion I must say.
GGG needs to sign Al Haymon as his "advisor" imho & than maybe we'll get some fun fights at 160.

Who does Haymon have at 160? Quillin couldn't even beat Rosado, and dropped a belt to avoid Korobov.
Haymon would hold GGG back, who is in line to fight Cotto or get his belt if he vacates instead. There's also: Lemieux and Chudinov. All Haymon has is Jacobs, Quillin and Taylor(lol). Haymon's stable at 160 is depressing. Geale and Murray are more proven.

If GGG dispatches him inside 6, that would be a good perf and a stay busy fight, waiting to add the WBC title this year.
Taureano can fight.

I'd rather see undefeated GGG vs undefeated Peter (I don't give a sh!t about the business stuff) who are arguable the top two guys now. I wouldn't mind seeing Lemieux vs Chudinov to fight GGG, but neither really deserve that fight right now. If David picks up this vacant abc title I tend to think he'll get fed to Saul before he'd be fed to GGG though so that isn't likely to happen anyway. And idk that Miguel isn't gonna avoid GGG to fight one of those big payday fights he has out there for him so I'm not super confident that fight will happen. I feel like Saul vs GGG will happen, but not til 2016 when Saul has made more of a mark at 160. In the meantime GGG gots to fight someone & Peter is easily the most interesting fight for me.

I hope this is wrong. For god's sake, Johnson is #45 MW according to boxrec. He hasn't beaten anybody worth mentioning. Adama had a better record than Tureano, and Adama was picked due to choices limited for Monaco. GGG's next fight will be in the U.S. They can surely find somebody better.

Really?
A fighter mentioned his own name in a big money bout against a fighter at a higher level?
There must be some truth in it then.
Did I tell you I was facing the winner of Mayweather vs Pacquiao, it's pencilled in for November, should be a thriller!

it will be very tough getting an elite boxer after murray
Lee faces quillin with winner set to fight EJS
IBF title is being contested between lemeuix and ndam, date not set and very unlikely lemeuiex will defend vs GGG but N'dam would
cotto is being a diva
jacobs is protected and may even be fed to quillin
I really like to see WBA make jacobs fight golovkin if stays inactive with his regular belt although they usually have 18m
only boxer available for a quick turn around is Heiland. This makes sense as he beat macklin and also eliminates him as a voluntary for the other so-called champs

I think that this is GGG's last fight we get for free. He'll be a PPV star going forward after he dispatches Martin Murray. GGG is not a young cat, he's closing in on mid 30s so I expect him to cut down is activity in the ring to twice a year and sign on for big fights only.
But, this fight with Martin Murray worries me. Not because I think that GGG will lose, but because Murray is one of the most boring boxers to watch. Murray's size and defense first and second style make it very tough to penetrate the guard and take him out of there. I worry that this fight will be brutally boring and affect GGG's popularity negatively if it turns into what i think it will, lots of clutching and grabbing. I actually predict some Boo's in this fight which is crazy considering GGG's fanfare.
Either way though, GGG needs to either cut some weight and take on some Junior Welterweights like Lara, Floyd, Cotto, Thurman or Canelo. Otherwise, the only other fights that i would consider would be Lemieux or Quinlin. But those two guys will never sign on for the fight with GGG.

Lemieux said he'd fight GGG and GBP wants it. He doesn't seem like a ducker, and hasn't given any indication that he would avoid it. Canelo and Lara have both mentioned GGG, but only Canelo is in the position to make the fight. Lol Floyd and Thurman? You really expect Floyd to fight GGG? Thurman is now finally getting some attention from Al and is getting groomed, there's no way that a fight with GGG would be considered, nor should it be. GGG is too damn strong for those guys. Cotto doesn't even want it and he's the MW "champ".

So GGG vs Quillin does it for you. Sign to Haymon for one fight though? Seeing as there's more decent fights to be made that's outside of Haymon at MW, it doesn't make sense, and it would kill a Ward fight as well. There's not much in signing with Haymon for a MW - look how inactive he's had Quillin and Jacobs.

Every thread doesn't need to bring up Floyd lol. I tend to believe that regardless of what GBP says they wanna line up David to be knocked down by Saul at 160. Saul IS GBP at this point (even more than he was previously with the recent Al exodus) & GBP needs to get him as many big $ fights as possible while lining him up vs GGG in the next 12-18mos. If they throw David to GGG & he gets KO'd in 4 rounds (which lets be real is probably the most likely outcome give or take) then he won't hold as much value to GBP when Saul fights him.
And with Al's obvious connections & strength in the game right now idk if its ever a bad thing to have Al as your advisor even if there is only one major fight with an Al guy to be made. Nor do I think one can suggest what Al has done til now in any specific division can define what he'll do with this new found television dominance he has. Talk to me in 2016 or 2017 about Al's intentions as by then we might really know something more meaningful.
I don't know who you see as having any sorta threat to GGG at 160 at the moment. When thats the case I wanna see him fight the #2 guy all day. The fact Peter is undefeated just makes the hype all the bigger. GGG does nothing for his legacy by fighting the Tuneano's of the world for the next year til the Saul potential superfight arises.
There won't be any fight with Andre Ward cuz even GGG seems to know thats a fight he's unlikely to win from interviews I've seen with him plus & more importantly he's not even in that division yet & GGG is already an older cat so who knows if he even has real intentions of moving up before Andre himself moves up in his own even more barren division.

I'd take that bet all day long. Who's GGG lined up to fight on PPV next in your opinion?
There really isn't a makeable PPV fight for him right now.
Saul is halfassing his 160 run by catchweighting at 155 right now. I believe we'll be seeing him up vs David before GGG assuming David wins that vacant abc belt.
Miguel & GGG seemed to be getting lined up by the abc org for later this year, but thats an abc org which leans towards money & its probably not an awful strategy for their bank account to have GGG & Miguel setting on titles for awhile longer so I wouldn't bank on that even from the abc org angle. Plus with Miguel having some bigger money fights with Saul & seemingly a potential rematch with Floyd being discussed often I think GGG is a big risk to hurt those paydays so GGG getting passed over for Miguel's bank account makes a lot of sense to me from the business side of boxing.
With the HBO Al Haymon ban I'm guessing there is no chance for a GGG vs Peter fight til GGG is outta contract with HBO (is his contract up after this next fight btw?).
Andre vs GGG ain't happening for 2 years probably & they aren't even in the same division yet nor does GGG seem to have given any indication he's looking to move up anytime soon. It'd be kinda silly to move up now anyway with Saul, maybe the biggest money fight for him in all of boxing, being so close.
There isn't a GGG PPV fight to be made yet. Saul vs GGG is definitely a PPV caliber fight & unless the Miguel fight comes off will likely be his PPV cherry popping.

I just can't remember any boxer as hyped who continued to fail to make a huge fight- any huge fight- that would cash in on their popularity.
This is a guy who has said he can go anywhere from 154 to 175, and he can't cash in?
Sooner or later, he is going to have to be held accountable.

He's definitely in the position where he's a bigger threat to beat a guy than a threat to outsell seats vs the same guy thus putting him in that difficult area many high caliber fighters without big fan bases find themselves in (ie Guillermo, Erislandy, Keith Thurman...) so idk how much of not getting a super fight lands on his shoulders in reality.
In this position I think you just gotta fight the best guys available & wait for the most part. I don't believe its a reasonable expectation, regardless of what one previously said, to move up & down in weight searching for better fights. If he wants to move up or down for a particular big fight by all means he should if he's that desperate though.
Personally I think the best courses of action at the moment is either to stay at 160 & wait for Saul (Saul imho has proven he's ready, willing & able to fight anyone at present time despite being a guy who was obviously softly handled not that long ago so them fighting is a year or year & a half away, ideally I think its Cinco de Mayo 2016) or move up to fight Andre Ward. I think its plausible with Andre's outlook at 168 that GGG could move up & fight him any time he wanted that fight to be made. If he loses to Andre, as I expect he would, he can still go back down to run 160 with a couple more digits on his bank account balance.

Plenty of guys from 154 to 175 want him.
Problem is, GGG (or perhaps better said, his handlers) don't want the guys who are calling him out.
