Al Haymon, Good for Boxing or Bad for Boxing

I see so many negative comments about Al Haymon on this & many forums I kinda am curious at the overall consensus opinion on if most see Al Haymon as a positive or negative for boxing.

No "idk yet" or "on the fence" option cuz I think being neutral about Al at this point with his 15 years in the sport & the recent TV roll out its nearly impossible to be neutral so you either got a definite opinion or are leaning one way or are incapable of having human emotions.

Wow, people are feisty today.

KBB tells me the planet would be better off without me and now Reggie says I lack human emotion because I'm not sure about Haymon. :witzend: I think he's better than King or Arum. My jury is still out on the guy. I'm a HW fan, let's see what he does with Deontay.

 Its cool man. I just kinda feel like at this point its hard to be neutral on the guy. He's satan or the messiah of boxing for a passionate minority or your kinda leaning this way or the other about him cuz of x, y & z which you sorta like or sorta don't like.

Not enough info to format a fair opinion.

I was hopeful but after hearing that Friday Night Fights might be cancelled/replaced because of him I'm not so sure, I bloody love FNF!

negative

i like the shows he is doing on free tv, but i do not like him protecting his fighters the way he does and preventing big fights from not happening.

Great for boxing. The Don Kings and Bob Arums were destroying boxing before Al Haymon showed up. Al said in a article he could run boxing and this all part of his master plan.

ok, the recent tv roll out isn't as of today. i can't judge his tv roll out until it is rolled out.
as of today i say his impact on the fights i want to see has been negative, but if he delivers
on all his promises down the road then it would be good for everyone. i think it will be very
hard for him to keep all his promises to this many fighters. it's all hope and rainbows right now.

lol, you aren't the only one he has said that to. I can tell it really bothers you too. :OhYes:

I've heard people in boxing media suggest he's said he wants to end the whole boxing ppv thing, but I've never seen that remark attributed to him in any Haymon article (if anyone gots a link to that specific quote being an actual Haymon quote feel free to link me). If he did something like get rid of PPV in boxing (obviously post-Floyd & Manny) that'd be a huge positive for the sport. Making fans pay $50+ to watch a fight is one of the barriers stopping new fans from becoming new fans right now imho. New fans rarely come from the low level weekly or monthly fights imo, they come from the big fights more often & you gotta spend money to see those fights.

Chapppaaa hit the nail on the head. I like the shows on network TV but he protects fighters too much. A vast improvement from Arum and King though.
