Which UK channel will show Mayweather Pacquiao ?

If sky do it will be PPV obviously.

But can BN get the rights ? This would be mega for them and increase their subscription base massively and as they show overall better boxing than sky right now could bring more fans to the sport.

Thoughts ?

Really hope it's BN but suspect it will be Sky with some crap "stacked" Matchroom card before it.

Wonder what card it could be ? Got loads up now a few weeks before that date.

March 28th sheffiled Brook v Dan
April 4th Newcastle Saunders v Ryan
April 11th Leeds Warrington v Tuberon
April 25th London Selby Gradovich Joshua Johnson Degale v ????
May 9th Birmingham Gavin v Van Heerden

I looked on the O2 website and the venue is booked on 2nd May so won't move that show a week.

If sky get Floyd Manny then surely Eddies April 25th show won't be PPV they can't do 2 in one week surely.

Would be ridiculous to make the April 25th show PPV anyway. I suspect Sky would put Mayweather vs Pacquaio on PPV on its own without bundling any UK fights, it will sell regardless.

How are TMT and Bob Arum going to take the news they've got to go through Eddie Hearn if they want it on Sky? NO EXCEPTIONS.

My thoughts are I wonder what PPV price will be charged.

The way they were talking on Talksport this morning this fight is going to be built up as if the Thriller in Manilla was a scrap between 2 piss heads outside a local pub.

Don't be surprised in this "fight of the millennium" or whatever is priced at £50 (yes folks, £50).

No chance. Prices didn't change for Lewis-Tyson or any other "Fight Of The Century". £19.95, at the worst.

It's gonna be 89.85 USD according to the guys on CS, isn't that around £60? Madness...It certainly won't be that much over here, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was higher than the usual price. 20 odd quid seems about right.

Ok mate.

If they charge £20 for Bellew/Clev do you think they will charge the same for this fight ?

They could do Liverpool as arena is free. Probably headlined by Bellew v Glowacki WBO final eliminator to be mandatory for Huck.

I don't need to show you anything mate.

My opinion is that this fight will be £50 PPV, and your opinion is it will be £20

Neither of us need to "prove" anything - debating it further until the prices are known is futile.

It may just be a subscription to allegedly.

If they get this fight their subscriptions would go through the roof can hype domestic shows on the back of this.

I will bet you it's closer to £20 than £50.

They didn't change their pricing for Hatton v Floyd, Hatton v Manny or Haye v Wlad - all arguably bigger fights for a UK audience.

This will be £20 on Sky with a UK card on "free-to-air" in the build up or as a straight PPV on BN for £12-£15.

I think the fight might just end up on BN - well at least I hope it does as the station deserves
The fight and major boost if would provide.

The promoters will want major ££ for the broadcast rights which would have to mean PPV
For us if it's sky at a guess the price will increase to about £25 - no more then that.
It's pretty risky stuff for sky (budgetary wise) as the fight won't be over here till After 5am - and Hearns big names are tied up already so he wouldn't be able to throw together even a half decent uk leg. Either way it will be interesting.

Interesting article from the Mirror

Interesting because there is no mention of BoxN@tion!

BN can pick up a lot of HBO and Showtime broadcasts fairly cheaply because the UK demand for fights featuring the likes of Hopkins, Rios etc is small.

However, there will be huge demand for this and the price will be high.

That rules terrestrial broadcasters out straight away and Sky have the deepest pockets.

I can really see this being on Sky PPV as that could well be the only way to make it viable for a UK broadcaster.

I hope it ends up on BN - they've shown all FM's and Pacman's recent fights and if it increases their subscribers that can only be good for boxing fans in the long run. Sky might be a bit cautious about throwing lots of money at it due to what they've just handed out for the footy rights. Also the time the fight is on and the lack of any British interest might limited PPV sales.

I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up at BT though; they are desperate to get more subscribers and have loads of money.

No chance

Since Sky have been doing pay per views (20 years or so) it has always been £15/£18

They have never changed any prices in this country in regard to how big the fight is

I really hate the idea of Bellew 'headlining' a PPV alongside the Mayweather Pacquiao fight, but I have a feeling this is exactly what we are going to get. Much rather see it on BN personally, feels like they deserve it more too since they are the only company who actually regularly provide international boxing.
