There were only 5000 there tonight.

How can allegedly make a profit on a show with attendances as low as that?

Can't be much profit in it really can there, O2 was a very ambitious booking for the card which while decent enough, had no out and out massive ticket sellers on it or really big fights.

Possibly the allegedly subs will help with events like this, but each event as a whole should make a profit and I can't see that one tonight doing it. I guess they're all hoping to cash in on a really big fight for Fury.

TV money plays a huge part in making a show profitable. Warren has to chuck in a few Eubank / Fury shows to a) ensure casuals remain subsribed and b) try to draw in a few more subscriptions .

What happened to copper box? Has he stopped doing shows there?

Sure i read it was something mad like "National handball centre" or "national indoor dodgeball centre" now. I guess as a country we need better facilities for sports that no bugger plays.

The MEN holds 20,000+ but still only got 5-6,000 with Quigg, Crolla and AJ on. I don't think anyone expected a sell out last night.

My point is that if they were only hoping/expecting 5000 why not hold it in a smaller venue which I assume would be cheaper.

Maybe they weren't available. There aren't that many medium sized venues in London. Eddie holds shows there too for similar crowds with the top tier closed.

They only opened the lower tier which holds 10,000 and someone on CHB said it was about 75% full, so 7-8k, decent for a show like that in London.

Frank didn't looked bothered though. He didn't have the haunted 'I've got this wrong' expression of say Maloney after price got beat. The balance sheet will be looking healthy, he's got to be in front on all the subscriptions from dec to feb....

I think part of the reason fwank booked the venue was to show he's still big time.

It was handball for the Olympics. I think the only thing it regularly hosts now is its the home for some basketball team. So I don't think that would prevent it being used for boxing too. Assumed the contract had just ended. Shame as when I went during the Olympics I thought it would be a quality venue for boxing (I couldn't actually make it to the warren shows he hosted)

Transport to/from the Copperbox wasn't great especially late-on

I bet the same people who slagged Frank off for using the Excel/Copper Box are now moaning he used the 02 and it wasn't full.

The o2 is set us such that yes it can hold 19k but can be done for a lot less too. I bet the last couple of Matchroom shows had similar attendances.

5,000 for a boxing show barring the odd special night is a very good attendance.

I like the CopperBox but punters didn't seem to enjoy the experience.
Additionally, Franck had a howler of a card when Fury & Chisora both pulled out for their 'mega fight' which, in the end, got cancelled.

I get the impression that Fury isn't as big a draw as Warren wants him to be.

He needs the right opponent to be a draw, on his own he's not great. Much like Eubank Jr.

Surely he saved a lot of money with Skeete, Petit and Buglioni in against knock overs.

this is the reason why klitschko fight will not happen in UK

klitschko fury can do 50, 000 in germany
plus they will still get same suscribers in allegedly

in germany Wladimir is a megastar, sportman, celebtrity, popular among non boxing fans

in UK he still is known to boxing fans more and few casuals.
