Katsidis at the Pavillion 20 Mar

Normally go to the Pavillion most nights but am concerned about this one.
Don't wanna see Katsidis get beaten and also don't wanna see him take on a tomato can.
(No Opponent named as yet)

What do others think?

Michael has a day in court booked on March 25th, relating to this incident:

Lets wish he is in good shape after his next bout, as his last fight ended badly and had worrying signs of his decline in being put down from what was not a big shot. I saw the replay and concur with this report:
In the first round he came forward and attacked, sensing that he needed to pressure his young opponent. But he copped plenty of punishment as he stepped forward, Coyle the much busier of the two. He was faster and crisper, moving freely and jabbing well off the back foot.

In the second round Katsidis was dropped just 80 seconds in. It seemed a pretty innocuous blow, a counter-attacking left hook and not a genuine knockout blow, but that was all that was needed to put him down. Katsidis got back to his feet but was shaky and the referee stepped in to wave it away.

Continuing to box is likely to present on-going health issues. But where is his life at without boxing? You have to be concerned for where Mick is headed.

Sadly he has nothing else in his life apart from getting into trouble from the law.

It will be worse if he isn't fighting 'tomatoes'. Hope they don't throw him with young fellas on the way up to be used as a stepping stone. Or even experienced pros ie. Lenny Zappa, Solimon Edgerime. I hope Mick gives it away as he has nothing to prove.

Katsidis was never a great fighter. He was a tough fighter nothing more, certainly not great.

Mick was a 2000 Olympian and mixed it with some future Hall of Famers. Might not have been 'great', but certainly no slouch and a lot better than just a tough fighter.

Yeah true, he was pretty mediocre at top level! came unstuck every time, I think the Earl fight made him look better than he actually was.

"What are you looking at"

He said this at the top of his voice when they were getting instructions in the middle of the ring

I for one will not bag Katsidis because he is a grand warrior he put everything on the line through out his career every single time he stepped in to the ring a fighters career cannot go on forever especially with his style of fighting I just hope and pray he doesn't get hurt before he hangs up the gloves for good. :salut: :salut: :salut: :salut: :salut: :salut: :salut: :salut: :salut: :salut:

Too late, he has already been badly hurt we are just unaware of exactly by how much at this stage...... He'll be suffering with possible brain damage in later life

We can all judge and we are looking in from the outside the word POSSIBLE won't protect any fighter there needs to be clear cut evidence
to stop someone from making a living that they have brain damage like Teddy Atlas sais every fighter that steps in that ring comes out losing a
little something physicaly wise but you know what i do take your point. :bag: :bag: :bag:

Jeez mate first to beat Mitchell, beat a handy fighter in Escobedo knocked Casamayor out of the ring knocked down JMM. After JMM he declined but he was not mediocre at top level he gave Casamayor,Juan Diaz,JMM tough fights.
