Wrong move/right parting?

For a fair few years fighters have jumped ship from promoter to promoter. Since the fast car/allegedly channel uprise got me thinking which defections haven't really brought just rewards and which have worked quite well. You can even mention current fighters with one promoter who you think would benefit from the jump. Sauerland, hennessy etc can all be included

The bad

Ricky burns career has been in plight since moving over. I think this may be down to allegedlys careful progressive matchmaking.

Brian rose - ok I understand he was with frank Maloney but I believe he would have benefitted from possibly going Hennessy or frarren more.

Nathan cleverly - I think frarren would have steered him back into contention

The good

Carl frampton - him leaving matchroom seems to have worked wonders

Kevin Mitchell - was stale under allegedly and the move worked out well

Derry Mathews - didn't think it was a good idea initially but it's proved otherwise with a world shot looming.

Mitchell has done nothing particularly impressive under Hearn. He's still stale and boring.

Burns leaving Billy Nelson was also a mistake, a move possibly encouraged by Hearn.

Jamie McDonnell has looked like he's regressed massively since moving to Hearn.

One thing I realised last night while watching Fury - have to give him credit for staying loyal to Mick for all these years.

I don't want to start gossip when it's only my personal hunch but the way Liam smith is being matched, I would not be surprised if he was next to jump ship. They put him on these big Liverpool shows but don't invest in a decent opponent. It's happening again now, and it happened last time. Bunce mentioned ex world champ Carlos Molina as a possible next opponent, you could tell smith was gutted at the crap opponent they'd fed him. Everyone makes the right noises in front of the cameras and press but I don't see a top opponent appearing this Friday.

As far as I'm aware he's fighting TBA,also has Wilton pulled out of the Satchell rematch?

It you disregard what is said, and look at what is being done, I wonder if the lack of investment in an opponent of decent quality is a sign that Liam will soon be joining his three brothers at matchroom. Fwank makes the fit noises about Liam but here we are again, a week to go and it's TBA once more.

He's fighting an Argie for the WBO International, nothing special but its to be expected at late notice. Does seem like Gallagher's been in his ear about moving, although I don't get the impression he's that big of a fan of Hearn either. I think he signed a new contract last year anyway, so if they get him a decent fight after this I think he'll stay with Frank.

I feel that for him, he may have needed a more steady fight before jumping in with Andrade. I know he was mandatory, however could have got him to go for EBU and held out for a vacant title or one of the weaker titlists. On his day Rose could probably have decisioned a Ishe Smith for example.

Rose suffered a devastating ok to Max Maxwell.

His previous promoter re-grouped and matched him well to get English titles and a British title.

His new promoter sent him to New York for a beating and he got stopped in the first round last week.

To get somebody as limited as Rose a world title shot is remarkable.

Am I right in assuming that you did not hone your skills whilst a member of Oxford University debating society?

Any idea who the Argie is? Maciel would be a tremendous opponent

That was said about Gavin though - the new contract thing. It didn't count for much in the end.

If ABril does get into the ring with Mathews, you have to applaud Warren. He's 2-2 on allegedly shows (albeit this is not his last 4 fights).

His new promoter worked him to a world title and a cracking amount of money. For somebody who got KOd by Max Maxwell.

Stunning that you would call Rose's move to matchroom bad.

Didn't think you'd rise bripez. You get called it all the time on here.

Rose himself said that the money wasn't great. He was sent out there to get beat up in a fight he was nowhere near prepared for.

If I was a mediocre fighter, and had a promoter getting me decent pay days and world title shots - I don't think I'd complain one bit.

Good fighters on their day, like Jamie Moore, got naff all.

Exactly. Seems obvious to me. Especially with Matthews being in the "good" column for more or less the same.
