I never understood why Bellew got a role. With his accent, he's not known in the US, he hasn't got a good physique..... To my knowledge he's never acted.

It's a very odd casting.

Does Stallone know the owner of Everton FC or something? Perhaps that's how they met, etc?

He has some sort of connection to Evertons high ups as they paraded him on the pitch when Rocky Balboa was doing the rounds.

I think Robert Earl who owns Planet Hollywood owns a percentage of us and is a director but apart from bringing Stallone to Goodison in about 2007 and the Creed filming scenes at Goodison he hasnt had much involvement with us publicly and certainly doesnt seem to invest any money for players ect ha

If it's in the Mail it must be true.

Just waiting for the Sun to confirm it.

There's a scene in the movie were tony has to insult apollo jnrs nan.

Reluctently tony agreed to act out the scene but when it came to actually filming tony looked at this poor frail old woman and the true scouser in him came out and he just went apesh#t and trashed the place.

There's a line in the script that reads, "Believe you me, these fists feed my family, it's as simple as that..."
I reckon he'll be a natural.

Funny the stick & banter bellew gets on here but I feel he wouldn't take it jokingly as he's gone ever so serious lately.

Considering he used to be a regular poster, yet never comes on here anymore, I guess you're right. It's a shame, the fans feed his kids.

Id say he's been fortunate in opportunitys & he's really done well for himself so far & had great exposure but everything he used to stand for has changed with abit of fame. In Liverpool they must be really celebrated & fussed over because it seems they think they are a lot bigger then what they are

Surely, though; if the chance came up for something totally different, well paid and maybe a new start who wouldn't grab it with both hands? I can't see him smacking anyone on a film set, he'd maybe get mouthy but no one would understand him anyway. He was a good poster on here, I remember after one of his bouts he was on here in the dressing room.

Even so I can't help but wonder if the audience will be questioning: Do the eyes lie :??
