How many viewers will it take to consider this a success or failure?
I agree.I do not know the numbers that it will produce.koolkc107 wrote:I think the card tonight is going to do very well.
Surprising even.
I don't believe so. Maybe at best highlights will get shown.Tony1244 wrote:Real solid Top-10 fight between Guerrero and Thurman.
Anyone know if the Breazille fight will be on TV? Hope so.
SHOWTIME does that on their Extreme channel. I don't think HBO does, but they should. Show the whole damn card. Perhaps boxing would grow some fans.ReggieDiggs wrote:I don't believe so. Maybe at best highlights will get shown.Tony1244 wrote:Real solid Top-10 fight between Guerrero and Thurman.

It'd be nice if they went full UFC & show the whole card somewhere & just up the stakes as we get deeper. Website or FB stream for 4-6 rounders, NBC Sports for 8 rounders & non-featured fights & then lets go to the main event on NBC. Quit f#cking around people.
Has any US televised fight had 5M watching recently? I think 5M would be a roaring success. You gotta go way further down then 4.9M to get "poor".expe wrote:Anything less than 5 million would be poor to me if I'm understanding how the show is being televised right.
Showtime shows more, but even they don't typically show the full card though do they? I mean the UFC will show 15 fights across various viewing options. I think Showtime just shows a couple extra typically. Not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth too much though lol. Respect & Love to Showtime.Tony1244 wrote:SHOWTIME does that on their Extreme channel. I don't think HBO does, but they should. Show the whole damn card. Isn't NBC one of the big few channels in the US, terrestrial TV, free to air and all that?ReggieDiggs wrote:Has any US televised fight had 5M watching recently? I think 5M would be a roaring success. Anyone know whats the highest watched fights in the past 2-3 years? (Where's Ferg when you need him).
Usually I see under 2M numbers for the highest rated fights.
The original big 3 are ABC, CBS, and NBC. But this isn't on the actual NBC like it use to be. It's on one of their cable affiliates. Not sure if everyone gets it. Depends on their package.expe wrote:Isn't NBC one of the big few channels in the US, terrestrial TV, free to air and all that?ReggieDiggs wrote:Has any US televised fight had 5M watching recently? Then it should do at least 5 million then if it's going out to a country of 300+ million.tiny_acres wrote:No it is on the free NBC.The original NBC
Where are you coming up with 5M? Why should it get "at least 5M"? I'd love to hear your logic.expe wrote:Then it should do at least 5 million then if it's going out to a country of 300+ million.tiny_acres wrote:No it is on the free NBC.The original NBC
Carl Frampton did 2m last week on ITV, similar channel to NBC. To the general public, he was a nobody, the fight wasn't even in England, where the majority of the audience is. Considering there's 5x as many people in America, it should be doing 5 million viewers in all honesty.ReggieDiggs wrote:Where are you coming up with 5M? Why should it get "at least 5M"? I think boxing is more mainstream in the UK. You guys get up for a lot of fights & fighters. Here its basically Floyd or Manny or who dat. I don't know the UK culture enough to comment on the TV stuff vs our TV stuff or whats competing with your guys' time vs our time so I won't act like I do know, but mainly I'd go with the apple & oranges comparison & whats going in the UK isn't all that relatable to here.expe wrote: Carl Frampton did 2m last week on ITV, similar channel to NBC. Mayweather-Canelo did 2.2M on PPV in September 2013.ReggieDiggs wrote:Has any US televised fight had 5M watching recently? I think 5M would be a roaring success.
