Hearing some serious whispers that Rigondeaux has dumped Hyde and signed or signing with one of Americas top promoters.
Anybody hearing anything about this.

Thought he was going to Rocnation a while ago.

Rocnation would make sense. Especially after they have signed Ward and Cotto, who are arguably in the promoting wilderness (if that makes any sense)

Seeing as Frank is pretty much out of the equation for the biggest fight in Britain, what are the chances he tries to sign him up and scupper the big fight?

It is pretty strange that a fighter of his ability isn't working with Top Rank or Goldenboy. They would make him much, much more money and he'd get some SERIOUS exposure on the American sports networks.

And if he really wanted to improve himself as a fighter, he should be reaching out to Freddie Roach - Roach is always willing to work with talented boxers.

Networks aren't that interested in winners, they want entertainers - especially ones that sell tickets and draw viewing audiences.

Rigo doesn't tick any of those boxes. Fighters like Klitschko have been largely ignored for years. Lomachenko recently. They have a home-grown gold medal unbeaten Olympian in Andre Ward and they aren't particularly interested.

So what chance does Rigo have ? he hasn't exhibited any personality and has often played it safe in fights at times.

GGG & Kovalev might not be sparkling personalities - but their fists do some serious talking, hence them capturing the public's imagination.

Rigo has not. Infact his showcase fight with Donaire was a dull affair.

Rigo was promoted by Top Rank for 4 years......

I thought Hyde had him on a cast iron contract for the next 5 years or so that's why he hasn't been able to break free for so long. What's changed?

Saw on twitter that Gary Hyde has petitioned the WBA to mandate quigg to fight rigo

Hyde still very active in his career.
They want Rigo v Quigg made mandatory.

I've always found it hard to get my head around the exact relation Rigo has with his manager/s and promoter but was always under the impression that Gary has a pretty cast iron agreement with him and that the messing came from the people in Miami.
