Thoughts on tonight's hbo fights?

Think Vargas was flattered a bit in the Lopez fight because Juanma is shot, think Tomlinson will trouble him but ultimately Vargas will win a wide decision

Decent fight, although it will probably be on too late for me to watch. I hate late cards on weekday nights.

Tomlinson is alright but he does seem like a bit of a step down for Vargas after Juanma. Hopefully if Vargas beats Tomlinson he can take on a higher profile opponent like Vasquez, Barthelemy, Fortuna, etc.

Undercard is kind of bleh. Shabranskyy could become a top LHW but his opponent Pena's undefeated record is suspect as hell. Combined record of Pena's 12 opponents: 21-166.

Yea i guess its somewhat of a step down but assuming he does fet past will tonight i hope he steps it up cuz the kid can fight.

Vargas is good and at this level he should get the job done, though I have a feeling that he'll fall short against top opponents.

I missed the first few rounds but it looks like Tomlinson's getting beat up pretty good.

Yup time for Vargas to get that title shot hes more than ready. He said after the fight that he wants the winner of Salido v Martinez him vs either of those would be a war.

Expected it to be more competitive... Very exciting but poor Will just got battered.

Not watched it yet but I guess Vargas is better than I thought he was!

Vargas has a great punching technique.

Tomlinson got killed. Totally one sided. I'd like to see Vargas vs. Vasquez next. I don't think Vasquez is a TR or Haymon guy so the fight should be makable.
