i once saw an interview with `irish` mickey ward where he admitted he doesnt have any irish ancestry at all.
it was a gimmick his manager came up with coz apparently where he comes from there is a big irish community.

I saw Dunne get knocked down in a fight about a year ago. He looked none to hot then.

He was being promoted by SRL, who supposedly is out of the promoting business now, so his future is probably up in the air.

I have seen Dunne fight twice, i think on friday night fights and he wasnt too impressive. One of them was the one in which he was dropped

Bernard will be back in action this friday (2nd July), he has been out injured with a hand injury for the last few months but will be back to his best this friday..... just you wait & see

I'll tell you where Dunne is - he's on the move. In fact he's running as far away from Jason Litzau as he can get.

But here's my prediction anyway for the future: Litzau KO1 Dunne.

Belfast Telegraph reports that Dunne will fight Pedro Mora (1-8) on Friday, and Brian Peters is trying to get him in with 14-0 Daniel Maldonado for 10 rounds on August 19.

A 1-8 fighter is shit preperation for a 14-0 fighter.

If any were wondering, Dunne did not look too good against Mora. He clearly controlled the fight, but this was an opponent who was being regularly knocked out.

Mora did go down much, but not from a very solid punch. After he took that and got up he seemed to gain some bravery and actually took the fight to Dunne a little.

Dunne doesn't seem to be any improved from the last time I watched him. At that time he looked to have some solid power, but there was little on display in this fight.

Agreed - Except for the first round or two, Mora sure looked better than a 1-8 fighter vs. Dunne. Especially in the late rounds he landed some pretty decent shots against Ben, and if that had been someone with power, especially in a 10-or-12-round fight, it might've ended rather badly for Dunne.

Litzau's handlers offered to fight Dunne on NBC and were turned down. I've been ringside for Litzau's last 3 fights and saw Dunne's performance last Friday. Needless to say, had Jason been in the ring with him, Dunne would have gotten "done" in a bad way.

CH5 showed the 1st, 4th and 6th rounds on tuesday night. I thought Dunne looked reasonable but an opponent who'd been KO'd 7 times should not have been fighting with such confidence throughout. Dunne was bloody lucky not to have been nailed too when he stupidly dropped his hands up close.

Much like Rocky Juarez, he seems to have gone off the boil a little...his last performance was one-sided but my impression from sparring footage and his earlier fight, is that he is at the very least susceptible to flash knockdowns...he doesnt seem to be really learning anything, he makes the same errors each time...

Its the first time I have seen Dunne, very different to what I have read. I was expecting a big punching, Hatton esque fighter. Quite the contary, despite an impressive record, he's not a huge puncher (IMO). However, he's an excellent tactition - reminded me alot with his footwork of Damean Kelly.

I'm a fan.

Not to make too many excuses, but the lack in bernards punching power is definately a result of a hand injust he is still carrying, he is undergoing further tests on it and it must be impacting in his KO power....
