Pascal is Shot

Hate to say it because I have nothing but respect for Jean Pascal, a true warrior no fear or anything, give his best effort, etc.. Nothing but love for

Pascal! I went back and watch his last two fights and he no longer able to pull the trigger like he used to! Something has happened to his reflexes

I am dead serious! He used to throws his punches fluidly and now it seems like he has to work harder to get his shots off, not with just Kovalev but

with Balonti as well and its weird that he comes off his best performance against Bute...a career best...then all of the sudden he's shop worn out of

nowhere :(

Go back and watch the Balonti and Kovalev fights he struggles to get his shots off HOW did he erode overnight? WTF???? Something happened to

Pascal.....this is coming from a guy that likes Pascal heart, talent, and determination but he looks like he has eroded the same way almost like Roy

Jones his mentor and idol. This has nothing to do with how great a fighter Kovalev is I am talking about Pascal struggling to pull the trigger. It's

like hard ass work to even throw a combination. I am telling you something has happened to Pascal. Those wars with Froch, Dawson, & Hopkins

is finally showing up. All FOUR of these fights were WARS and it has finally taken it's toll on Jean. His fight with Kovalev reminded me much of

Judah vs Clottey...the talented shop worn Judah vs the vibrant up and comer trying to make a name for himself. Pascal reminded me a Judah so

much in his last couple of fights they way he struggles to pull the trigger. Sad....

One fight and you say he's shot, he easily beat the brakes off of Bute and looked great doing it and now he has a fight with arguably one of the hardest punchers and underrated fighters (on his boxing skills) and a man who obviously deserves to be on the P4P list.

I wouldn't write Jean off just yet but I think it is quite stupid for him to suggest fighting at HW, he should go the more natural route which is CW then progress up to HW.

As it was mentioned in another thread, he should better consider shaving off some of his bodybuilding muscle and going back to SMW.

Listen...I have always tuned into a Pascal fight. All of his big fights I made sure I was at home in time lol. Like I said go watch the Balonti & Kovalev

bout and notice his reflexes. When I saw the Balonti fight I said Pascal may have had a bad day but he showed it again with Kovalev. For me, in my

honest humble opinion he doesn't look like a fresh vibrant fighter that he was, his reflexes the way his used to fire his punches are no more. I am

not talking about how good a fighter Kovalev, the muscle tone he needs to lose, etc... I am simply talking about the way he can't pull the trigger like

he used to. Right now even Dawson would beat him if they were to rematch. At least with Dawson's last outing his timing and reflexes were still there

despite the loss to Ward and Stevenson, you could still see Chad has the ability. Pascal looks slow and lethargic fire off his punches. Just like Zab

starting in 2007. You know what I'm talking about lol....

This is the worst I have seen him in 2 consecutive fights..I've been watching Pascal since 2007 the ESPN days coming to the ring on Harley Davidsons

lol. Its something about that Balonti and Kovalev fight that has me saying this. Back 2 Back struggling to pull the trigger fights TWO...not ONE but

TWO DOS. Pascal has NEVER looked this bad. I smell a Zab Judah/ Roy Jones eroding of physical ability

No kidding, when I read the caption I thought the OP was a report about Pascal being the victim of a drive-by or some such.

Never occurred to me the subject might be whether Pascal still belonged in the ring or not.

My take?

The guy just took the best lightheavy in the world (not named Adonis) the longest and toughest that beast has ever been taken.

I'd say that alone warrants holding off on the "washed-up" talk for at least a fight or two...

this is what happens when you go up against the likes of kovalev

I know that in the mind of the OP there is a way to reconcile a thread talking about what a beast Kovalev is and how he MUST be outright ducked....and another thread in which the man Kovalev just beat is shot (and was evidently going in)....My explanation, a love affair with hyperbole.....

Kovalev dont get a lot of credit because he is not a tidy boxer. i am a huge fan of koalev but i agree pascal did look a little battle weary

This wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that he was taking hard, flush shots from arguably one of the best punchers in the game now would it??

I'd agree I'd they wasn't shots that he would normally get tagged with, but I don't think that was the case. The difference was Kovs power. Wouldn't surprise me if he starts to look shop worn after that fight, but let's see..

I personally would like to be as shot as Jean Pascal is. That'd do me nicely, that would.
