Interesting fight on the card with Lebedev vs. Kalenga on April 10.
Palacios has never been stopped (or even knocked down, as far as I know).

It looks like both of his losses to Wlodaczyk were pretty close, so it is a good test for Kudryashov. Of course, Wlodaczyk himself would be better.

On paper it looks like a very interesting and competitive fight. I think Drzod showed that Wlodarczyk was on the decline. I think Kudryashov will show that Palacios has declined and is almost 38.

I think Kudryashov will KO Palacios in the 4th round in another impressive performance. His power is real, and while he is a bit slow, he compensate his relative lack of speed with a good timing. Kudryashov also has a good variety of punches. He isn't one handed guy. The big question mark is his chin, considering the fact he was knocked down by a bum early in his career, but he has good, unorthodox defense. He isn't easy to hit unlike some others big punchers.

I notice that he knocked out the guy's father two fights later...I wonder how many others have beaten a father and his son.

According to BoxRec he was dropped in the first round of his pro debut by Oleksandr Okhrey (I haven't seen it).

But even if Kudryshov doesn't have a good jaw (which isn't a fact just because he was knocked down in that fight), I don't see it as a big problem for him, because his defense, as I said, is pretty good and his power and accuracy will always make his opponents think twice before throwing a punch.

Very good fight card on Friday:

I think age 27 Kalenga might upset age 35 Lebedev.
Light heavyweight Dmitry Bivol is one to watch for the future.

Chakhiev brutally stopped Brudov.

Charr looked awful as always. He isn't top-30 HW and never was. As for Brudov, I hope he is OK after such a brutal KO loss. He needs to retire, don't want to see him getting KO'ed like that again.

Fight is about to start!!
I'll post Hls and updates here:
http://www.the13thround.com/phpBB2/view ... 5&t=113053
Many thought Palacios had won vs Wlod in their first meeting (i had wlod #1 at that time)... Palacios was running a lot and was passive at times... but also showed brilliant offensive actions like counter uppercuts... Should be interesting if Palacios keeps moving for 12. The judges were fair with Duhaupas, must have given a boost to Palacios mentally.
But imo Kudryashov takes him out as soon as he stops moving. Kudryashov is a beast!

Kudryashov has unbelieveable power in both hands. But power isn't his only asset. Against Gomez he took Cuban's defense form his head with hard punches to the body and we saw that again today against Palacios, which means Kudryashov has good boxing IQ in addition to his power.

His chances to face top cruisers become dimmer and dimmer. Unless his promoter finds really big money, all belt holders will be citing the risk vs reward excuse.
Maybe Usyk will be pressed to face him in a couple years.

Very good fight so far. I have Lebedev ahead so far
-----L--K---
1---10-9
2---10-9
3---10-9
4---8-10 Lebedev was winning the round comfortably until he got caught with a left hook and went down 15 seconds from the end of the round.
5---10-9
6---10-9
7---10-8 Kalenga down at the 1:50 second mark of the round
8---10-9
9---9-10
10--9-10
11--10-9
12--9-10
Final score is 115-111 for Lebedev. Kalenga was outworked for the first part of the fight and missed way too many punches. He came on a little towards the end but it was too little too late.

Used to post about Kudryashov here and the reaction was that he was a nobody about to lose when he steps up. Glad he is gaining fans!
