Sadly his character doesn't translate into multi millions on the mainstream scale! At memorial park here in houston 3 weeks after he knocked out
Margarito I yelled to him on the track "Floyd Don't Want None of You Lol!" He laughed and a couple of hours later after after the park died down
and he was training his son who was with him he gave that gesture like "You Keep Doing What You're Doing! You''re Jogging Circles Around Us!"
Keep in mind the Margarito victory was his 2nd best after Oscar 1. I was surprised how open and down to earth he was.
It took Holyfield damn near 2yrs to even say hello, he usually avoids eye contact and everything until he really gets comfortable with your presence
overtime but Sugar Shane was totally different. I don't know! It struck me weird how cool Shane was being in the top 5 boxers in the world at that
time. I SWEAR TO YOU THERE IS NO FIGHTER THAT'S COOLER AND DOWN TO EARTH THAT A SUGAR SHANE MOSELY!!!!!
Shane had the same personality vibe like as if he worked night stock at the local sams club

You see how shady most people are in general? As long a fighter is producing giving great entertainment then it's something to talk about.
When they are no longer able to entertain they aren't worth a discussion.
I don't blame Mayweather for cherry picking because when his time is up most of you will move on anyways to the next "hot fighter" and so forth.

Haha common bnov, Ive never had the good fortune of meeting Shane, so I can't either agree or disagree. He always comes across well and genuine on tv, so I'm sure your chance meet is a good yard stick.
So when you taking him for a beer?

After SSM beat down Margarito, Pacquiao and his team were afraid to fight him. Shane had more than one conversation with Roach, and Roach said no way will we fight you at 147. Shane said you fought Oscar at 147, and Roach said you aren't Oscar, and are simply too good of a fighter. The non-official negotiations went on, with Shane calling their bluff to drain to 146, 144, 142, and finally at 140. Team Pac still refused the fight. Arum and Roach stated that no way would Floyd fight Mosley. After Floyd beat Mosley, suddenly Mosley was shot and over the hill....even though he was a top 3 ranked welter at the time. A year or so later team Pac mustered up the courage to fight Mosley who was almost 40.
Cherry picking?

You guys dwell on weight drained fighters too much, if the opponent agrees to the weight, bad luck, Floyd weight drained canelo and laughed about it on 24-7, who cares, get over it

Here we go again with Sugar Shane love fest. It's the same people that think that Cotto is one of the all time greats. Two of THE MOST overrated boxers in history.
Sugar Shane admittedly took steroids in both fights against Oscar but people refuse to use this information. Instead, people hold SSM up to all time great status. That is BS. Aside from the wins against Oscar and Margarito, this guy has lost every big fight he's been in (Same with Cotto btw). From 2007 to his retirement in 2013, SMM had only 3 wins in 9 fights. He lost in every PPV fight that I was dumb enough to pay for.
Margarito's career is forever marred for loading his gloves and rightfully so, but it's not THAT MUCH worse than juicing up with illegal drugs to gain an advantage in strength and speed. Both are illegal and both put their opposition in great danger in the ring. You people can keep loving SMM but just read the whole book and don't just skip to last page to form an opinion when stacking him up the greats of the sport. He could be nice as pie in person but I don't have any respect for anyone that cut corners at the expense of others safety in the ring.

I've met a fair amount of top fighters and the one that stands out as being a nice guy was Paulie Malignaggi. It was in the arena right after he beat Juan Diaz. I just wanted to shake his hand and congratulate him, but he really locked in on having a little conversation and being genuinely thankful for the support.

Shane just tries to hard by being Mr. Nice Guy to get the public to like him, in essence he really is a nice person but he should've shaken part of that persona when it came to the fights and did what he did when he was begging for that asswhuppin from Floyd and jumped in the ring after every fight to the person he wanted to fight next.
It was sad that Shane had to get Hopkins to instigate the fight between him and Mayweather, otherwise he may not have ever grown the balls to face Floyd, he ducked and dodged the Floyd fight after beating Vargas and passed it off onto Oscar.
If Shane had the men streak edge of a guy like Mayorga he probably would've been a huge PPV star, I always thought of Shane as defensively deficient; he couldn't dodge a right hand to save his life.
