What is the point to this fight? The 'oppoment' is just there to survive; not even trying. You can tell he's not letting his shots go.

Frankies had 22 fights and he's fighting someone who cleary is not trying to win. I can understand a journeyman's role for a prospect in his first few fights but not his 23.

Shouldn't have gone past 4 rounds and Frankie managed to carry him the full 10, pretty much admitted it himself in the interview. All the amateurs that came through that Olympic squad are very similar stylewise, especially Gavin, BJS, DeGale and Price, a product of the scoring system at the time. Price carries one punch knockout power, so he's got away with it to a point, Tibbs and McDonnell have turned Saunders and DeGale into excellent professionals, neither are big punchers, but they can box on front or back foot and have developed enough power to hurt opponents with one punch. Frankie has got stuck in the same style, pawing with the jab without ever really throwing it properly, no weight behind his punches and he struggles when he has to get the weight over his front foot and starting moving forwards.

agree with the big punching, like when bjs beat spike, he won every round didn't get touched but people moaned,because he didn't look like ko him, think degale is starting to change and people are starting wanting to see him.

Recent fights have shown that there is a huge gulf between our top 2 welters and the rest.

I can't believe anyone ever thought Frankie would make it to world level.

Frankie Gavin for me is the most boring boxer out there. No power, no slickness, nothing exceptional, just textbook 7/10 most things.

Don't like watching the guy, turns me right off.

Winning world gold at amateurs probably puffed up the expectation. But looks like never to hit fruition for Frankie but hel earn a bit.

Frankie looked in GREAT shape.

Never mind the guy that he fought Gavin himself will soon be considered a journeyman
