I am hearing rumours from a reliable source that Tyson Fury is lining up Wembley (with Emirates as a fall back venue) for a September heavyweight clash.

Which opponent, other than Klitschko or Haye, could stand in the other corner to make a stadium venue worthwhile?

Would new titalist Deontay Wilder be a big enough name to warrant a stadium fight?

Anyone else heard rumours around this date, venue and possible opponents for Tyson?

It was in the Manchester Evening News about a month or so ago that Wlad v Fury has been penciled in for Wembley or Emirates in September.

Wilder, Thompson, Tarver, Browne, Price or Glazkov for the Klitschko/Ukranian angle...

That's a fight I can get excited for.

I think it's a comfortable Klitschko win but it would be great to have a heavyweight stadium fight to look forward to.

It can only really be Wlad,Wilder or Haye ,it won't be Joshua

Haye, Joshua, Wilder and Klitschko.

Those are the only names that work for a Fury stadium fight at Wembley or The Emirates.

It wont be Haye as he has said he wants a few fights to shake off the ring rust before taking on the big names.

Joshua would be very surprising to say the least as Eddie Hearn wouldnt throw him in against Fury after taking him so cautiously so far. Also I really couldnt imagine Joshua being on a allegedly bill.

Which leaves either Wilder or Klitschko. Both could potentially do Wembley, but would need a very strong card in support, especially Wilder.

Being honest I think you struggle with any of the names on here except perhaps Wlad.
I think people forget how fornicating big Wembley is.

Ever since the Groves vs Froch rematch, every other day someone on here mentions another Wembley fight. Some of the names I've heard linked to a Wembley sell out have been farcical.

Froch groves 2 had more than just 2 recognisable names and the draw of the big fight buzz.
It had history. The build up to first fight created hype, the outcome of the first fight created massive controversy and interest, then they slapped on a bit more animosity before the rematch to really put the icing on the cake.

Now all of a sudden Paul Smith vs Rocky Fielding should be at wembley with the rematch at Knebworth because no stadium could contain such an awesome spectacle.

if its not Wlad it would have to be against a fluent English speaker to try and at least build some sort of hype around a fight...

Even Haye-Fury isn't a Wembley/Emirates fight.

No way he fights Joshua,he didn't even fight a prospect at his level when he refused Price so no way is he gonna fight a prospect who is a level below him,certainly not until he's had his world title shot anyway

TBH I'm at the stage with Fury where only a genuine top 10 HW opponent will do,Povetkin would be another good test

Nice spot Sklar - it would appear that the MEN report is more than just a promotional puff piece - dates have been reserved to facilitate the fight so I assume Warren is getting some positive indications from the K2 promotional team...

I hope it comes off as it would kick off the new boxing season perfectly!

I'm not sure Fury v Wlad is 80,000 either and I don't believe any promoter would stake their money to a Haye fight of that size without a qualifier to prove he'll show.

Fury V Wlad at Emirates sounds about right. Don't think it does 60,000+ at Wembley.

Would be on the the best bits of promoting in history if FW gets the dominating world heavyweight champ to come to the UK when he can do such good numbers in Germany.

Wembley or the Emirates could easily be set up without the top tiers for 40-50k and would still be proifitable.

Although saying that I'd only think Haye or Wlad would draw those numbers. Anything else even Wilder would be better in a big arena.

It won't sell out Wembley but it would shift enough tickets to make it worthwhile I'd guess if it was Klitchko. Is Wilder well enough known over here? I mean I'd like to see it and people would get interested when it got to the press conferences but not sure. They really missed a trick not putting a roof on Wembley though. Absolutely ridiculous.

Wlad I'd imagine, he'll see this as easy money, and he seems to be on his farewell world tour at the moment...though even Wilder would be big enough I reckon, as all your average punter needs to know is that the big man is fighting for the WBC world heavyweight title and surely they'll be wanting to see it.
Especially when they see DW's highlight ko reel, including his knock out on the mighty Audley Harrison.

They'll probably do it during the international break and they could get the fixtures sorted so they're not at home the week after, with the time they'd have to set up the show, they can be careful not to wreck the pitch and Arsenal have a big enough budget that any damage can be quickly fixed.
