i once in a while call for a video section. would make
my youtube odyssey's searching for good fights much
easier. just imagine if there was a section like "current
scene" just dedicated to contain threads that have a
video link in the first post. me would love this.

Terrible idea mate. The only safe place for stuff like this is on private boards with no public access (& certainly no fvcking google & MSN bots & webcrawlers going through it each & every day).

I would prefer to rely on my own search engine skillz. Anything posted on a public board that's relatively recent will be taken down quicker than an Eddie Hearn Latvian import & then it'll get a reputation through pingbacks & the h̶y̶e̶n̶a̶s̶ lawyers will know where to look.

You do stuff like this on a public board, you make their lives easier for them.

Well considered, 'sue.

We could just have a 'fights you need to see' thread with a brief intro of what goes down. Shouldn't then be too hard to search for it yourself. Obvs, this would only work if people named fights they knew were on YouTube.

You'd have to request it stickied, of course - If we're still doing the periodical deletions.

good point. but i am actually only talking youtube
and i guess things could not be more 'public' than
that. there is tons of fights of the greats as well as
some nice documentaries on youtube and i assume
there are way more than i am aware of. for me -
even if it was youtube only - such section would
have great merit.

just to make that clear, i am not talking about a
link to one recent ppv fight or anything similar.
that clearly makes no sense and can't be in anyone's
interest.

This site isn't very video friendly. There are already video friendly boxing sites that do this & you can watch embedded videos right from their site. I'd go looking for those sites if you don't feel skilled at youtube searching.

I'm talking about stuff on Youtube. There's loads of stuff on Youtube that er, shouldn't be, if you get my drift & I believe until they get a specific copyright complaint they have such a massive volume of shite thrown up there that it's not really properly monitored (because of the huge traffic it generates, maybe there's the occasional automatic bot looking for simple keywords but easy to fool).

I am against publicly posting links to stuff unless I know for a fact it's readily available, I've "shared" things on a board before (that anyone in their right mind would regard as fair game/"Why would anyone care about that?") & a week later they're gone, whereas if you PM them to someone with a polite request to use their loaf about it then I've found it tends to stay up.

I love the idea of a video section though as mentioned they can go down without any real reason. A Japan buddy of mine said he got a copyright notification recently for John Mark Apolinario Vs Tyson Marquez, a fight that no one really cares about.

The only real way to do this would be to go through official channels, for example the Universum channel.

The Premier Boxing Champions YouTube channel is pretty good:

They usually upload full fights about 1 week after broadcast.
